Creative Labs Live! Cam Chat HD

I bought this from Amazon in March 2013, two years on it's still working and has had good driver support for various operating systems.I do not tend to do a lot of video calling but I do use skype a lot for voice and this has been perfect for that. It does pick up more background voice than a mic attached to headphones but that's to be expected. I do get the occasional comment of 'what's that noise?' if an ambulance goes past which does tend to happen as I live on a main road.I have used this this with Windows 7, 8, 8.1 10 and Ububtu and it's worked faultlessly with them all. It is recognised instantly on Windows, installing without any input from me and working in minutes.I have used the webcam itself and the picture is good. As with any camera it struggles with exposure if there is a window behind you but using a light or with the window elsewhere the picture quality is good. It can start to look grainy in low light but it is a better picture than I've seen from similarly priced Microsoft alternatives

Bought this to replace my old Logitec QuickCan E3500. The webcam is small, unobtrusive and it fits nicely on the top of my monitor. The fact that you can simply plug it in (I use Win 7 and Skype) and it is up and running without having to install any software is great. Some software is available from the Creative website but I have not tried that yet.The picture is a little sharper than the old E3500 and the sound (and the noise cancelling) is much better. I have not yet been able to get it to work in 16:9 ratio so all of my video chats are in currently 4:3 ratio but this is more likely to be a Skype bandwidth problem - it has not happened to me but apparently on Skype the ratio changes automatically to match bandwidth and therefore video can skip between 14:9 and 4:3. As most of the places I chat with are on the other side of the world that is probably why I only get 4:3.All in all it works well and I am happy with it. It is not the improvement I had hoped for but that is probably down to my connection rather than the Webcam. Depending on price it could be a 5* buy.

First time I've purchased a webcam, so I've nothing to compare it to in terms of ease of use and installation.The camera was delivered well within the time stated and easily installed, although the download did take some time. My only observation here is that the instructions that came in the box said "do not connect to computer until prompted to", however the installation failed because it could not detect a device - there was no prompt! It was easily resolved though.The only other really picky point is that the printing font for the serial number on the box is really small and I had to get a magnifying glass to be able to differentiate between a "6" and an "8" to be able to register the device correctly. I hope the manufacturer makes note of this.I don't believe these minor points are worth deducting a star rating thoughOtherwise a great quality picture and easy to use.

Ok so this camera does what I require it to, but not a lot else. I only wanted it for Skype, as I wanted to move on from using my mobile device, and I am pleased to see they have cameras with mics now, to avoid the whole headset or seperate mic set up, which rolls everything into one.Unfortunately I don't think the picture on this camera is all that great. If I were into having a YT channel where I'd talk about specific sports I follow (Boxing for example) I'd probably look to get something abit better quality than this, but for Skype it seems to work not too bad. Obviously some grain in low light and exposure is a problem. . . But the Mic works well, I don't speak all that loud and the people on the other end seem to hear me fine.Set up was a breeze too, as it's basically just plug n play, found the software online which is nice n helps adjust the picture slightly, and it worked first time. . . All in all decent little cam, worth the money but I think spending around £50 could get you a lot more in terms of quality, If you were looking for a cam to do more than just Skype.

The quality (resolution) of this webcam is quite bad. I originally had a Logitech one, and the quality was really better. I am quite upset for this bought. Creative Labs is a great firm, and I didn't expect a quality like this one. I have lost the original package, otherwise I would probably had asked Amazon for a refund.

I decided to buy a new webcam because the internal one in my netbook died some time ago when the PC was running in Windows. I have changed all my PC's to Linux Mint 14 (which is really great, secure and FREE). Most webcams seem to work in Linux, and after looking at other reviews, I ordered a Creative "Chat Cam" from Amazon. All my computers recognised the camera straight away and I also had no problems activating the camera mic, which is connected via the single USB connection from the camera. I have tried the Chat Cam on a friend's Windows 7 PC, and the results compared well. The camera image and sound quality of the mic are both very good indeed, with sharp well coloured images and clear sound. Needless to say, Amazon's service was as usual, excellent.

Not very impressed with the camera, software takes a lustrum to download. The image did not stablise on the modes the software offered. On Windows Messager I could not take a snap shot for my profile. Windows Movie Maker hated it as no image would show on the screen. Maybe an ideal product if you have a laptop as it is small and would fit easy into your computer bag. The only thing I liked was the stand clipped to my monitor. Have a look for a different product at a simular price. I shall pass my webcam on to someone, good job it is small as it is not taking up much room in my spares box.

L'installation de la webcam s'est déroulée en quelques secondes car elle est reconnue par Windows 7 (en revanche le pilote n'étant pas fourni il faudra le chercher sur le net si le PC ne reconnaît pas la caméra). Aucun soucis pour fonctionner avec Skype par exemple. Petite et discrète elle se maintient plutôt bien sur le haut de l'écran d'un portable. La qualité d'image est bien suffisante pour de la visioconférence. Attention la caméra ne pivote pas de gauche à droite, seulement de haut en bas !

Después de buscar y buscar una webcam compatible con OSX (en mi caso Snow Leopard), esta opción me pareció la más adecuada. Se trata de una webcam súper compacta y adaptable a cualquier tipo de monitor y como no, con micro integrado. Al conectarla al equipo no tuve que tocar nada, Skype la detectó automáticamente. La calidad del sonido y de la imagen es buena, y para quienes utilicen Windows existe además un software propio que mejora el rendimiento general de la cámara.Una opción totalmente recomendable, por este precio no podría pedir más!

Fa tutto quello che deve fare ad un prezzo tra i più convenienti per webcam di questa fascia. La capacità di videoconferenze in hd dipende ovviamente dalla qualità della propria connessione internet e soprattutto dalla velocità in upload. Ottimo anche il software per scattare foto, fare filmati, attivare il riconoscimento facciale che sostituisce le password ed altro, non disponibile nella confezione ma scaricabile direttamente dal sito della Creative. Grande sensibilità e precisione del microfono che uso anche per la dettatura dei testi. La uso con sistema operativo Win 7 (riconoscimento immediato) ma dubito che esistano anche i driver per Win 8, quindi è bene verificare se si vuole istallare su macchine che usano l'ultimo OS di Microsoft. Per il resto prodotto assolutamente consigliato.

Haben uns nach ein paar Recherchen kurzerhand für diese Webcam entschieden; sollte nicht die günstigste, aber auch nicht die teuerste Kamera sein. Für uns war es auch sehr wichtig, dass sie einfach zu installieren und bedienen ist. Ob sie aber auch ihre eigentlichen, für uns wichtigen Aufgaben, eine gute Übertragung der Bilder und einen gut zu verstehenden Ton, erfüllen kann, war abzuwarten; Eigenversuch macht klug... All diese Kriterien hat diese Kamera lt. unseren Videofonie-Partnern mit Bravour erfüllt. Diverse Vergleiche haben ergeben, dass diese unsere Kamera sogar die beste Übertragung von allen hatte.Insgesamt können wir diese Webcam für Einsteiger und "Normalos", die keinen Wert auf "überkandidelte" Extras legen, absolut empfehlen. Wer von seinem "Gegenüber" klar gesehen und gut verstanden sein will, hat hiermit das richtige "Fräulein vom Amt"... (zwinker). Preis/Leistung super gut, kurzum: wir sind vollends zufrieden und würden uns hierfür sofort wieder entscheiden.

Je ne l'ai pas encore vraiment bcp utilisée mais elle démarre et fonctionne pr le moment bien
