ConairMAN Cordless Beard & Mustache Trimmer for Men, 39 Total Settings with Hair Collector

As a former fan of the Philips Norelco 7200 Series vacuum trimmers, I was in search of something similar as a replacement since those are no longer made. I first tried the Remington Vacuum Trimmer and, like many other reviews, the compartment for the the vacuum sticks out too much and the blade does not get close enough to the skin. I then tried the Bell+Howell Vacumtrim and it was decent, but I found the trim to be uneven. Third, I tried the Philips Norelco 9000 Series Trimmer. This one does not have a vacuum, which I am used to, and the mess it leaves was too much for me. I came across this Conair trimmer and read a review that is quite similar to the one I am writing right now. Even though this trimmer does not have a vacuum, the hair collector feature works almost as if it does. Barely any hair falls onto my sink when I use this trimmer. The blade gets close enough to the skin for my liking and the trim is even. I am so relieved I found a new trimmer that works for me.

I've been using this for a little while now and if you want to take hair off it works great! As a trimmer, however, this item leaves a lot to be desired.It might be because I have thick hair but at longer comb settings it just doesn't seem to be able to keep up, the teeth are just too small. I have only had this a short time but I think I need to buy something different.I am sure for finer hair or shorter styles it would work well but I have neither of those things

I was looking for a replacement to my Norelco vacuum trimmer, but didn’t like the reviews of the newer models. Then I saw this trimmer and noticed that it was cheaper which concerned me about its quality. I also though it was a vacuum trimmer given that it had a place that holds the clippings, but found later it has no vacuum, which might explain the cheaper price. After using it for a few months I’m impressed with its performance and how the cut hair is able to collect into the hair compartment without a vacuum. Also, there are many settings for trimming levels, and it can trim very short if that’s your preference. Some thoughts or room for improvement: 1. The length selector might need to be made a bit harder to move, and maybe make it not as tall so to make it less likely that it will get moved when holding it, because initially I noticed when holding the trimmer my hand caused the length selector to move and select a different length than I wanted. After some time though I naturally learned to hold it in a way to not make it move, but that might be some area for improvement. 2. The plastic that moves up and down as you adjust the length seems very flimsy. I’m not sure how well it’ll hold up, especially because I end up having to remove it each time for cleaning. 3. Maybe the size of the hair holder can increase. I’ve only been using this for a few months so can’t tell how it’ll hold up, but so far I’m generally impressed.

Works great! Makes for an easy clean up after a successful trim. The vacuum catches pretty much most of the clippings.

Love it safe easy to use. If you want total hair removed bald or remove all hair this is not for you
