Spigen Rugged Armor Designed for Xperia 5 IV Case (2022) - Matte Black

Been using the same brand for years already. So glad they have one for the new phone I bought. Very durable. Easy to hold. Effective in protecting phone unit. Slots for side buttons are accurately placed.

I'm really impressed with this case. I didn't think I would have many good choices for such a niche phone but Spigen has knocked it out of the park. The case is fairly slim and the material feels amazing. Cutouts are all excellent and there is a well designed chamfer to the power button so you have enough room for your finger. The "carbon fiber" accents on the back aren't nearly as obvious as the photos show. They are actually pretty subtle. It's overall a fantastic case.

This is my third Spigen case for my third Android phone. You can always count on Spigen to create cases for those niche phones, like the Sony Xperia. Over the years, I have dropped my phone hundreds of times and I have NEVER cracked a screen, thanks to the Spigen case. Every so often, I try out a different case, but immediately regret my choice and move back to the Spigen. They always fit like a glove, but the best part is how well the buttons work. Spigen cases offer a very satisfying "click" noise and feel when push the buttons. Other cases don't, which feel cheap.My ONLY complaint about Spigen cases are the lack of a color choice. I'd be willing to pay a dollar or two more for a Spigen that comes in a different color other than black.

I've tried several of the cases on Amazon for the Sony Xperia 5 IV. This is easily the best one. Many of the others didn't work with a wireless charger, but this one does. It has a matte finish (to match the phone) and comes in and out of the pocket easily. I feel the phone is well protected from drops and it feels good in the hand. This is not my style of case, as I usually buy Encase holster style cases (don't like things in my pockets), but those are not made for the Sony Xperia 5 IV. Unfortunately, Sony does not sell as many phones as I think they should, so there are not as many case options. However, that fact doesn't detract from the quality of this case and I give it 5 stars. It does what it's supposed to and does it well.

Case has great texture, not slippery but also not too grippy. The case has a slim profile, does not have bulk but does its job. I've dropped my phone many times and there have been no accidents. Charging port opening and buttons are appropriate size and feel.

This phone case saved my Xperia 5IV from dropping it from 4ft high locker to the concrete floor. It dropped with phone screen down but no damage at all. Not bulky but it does the job well. Strap hole on the left bottom corner is nice that I put a ring strap on it.

The case is fairly plain but doesn't look cheap. I'm surprised by how good it feels in my hand when compared to my previous clear TPU case.
