Huge space, high quality, max comfort.
Wow... what can I say. Starting with it arriving 3 days earlier than advertised, this bag is... probably built by the same people as built Dr Who’s police box! Loads of space in the main compartment, with extra if you pack out the snow collar. Cavernous too pocket which adjusts so you can pack something (sleeping bag, tarp, roll mat etc) between the snow collar and the ‘lid’. The side pockets look like they’ll be useless if the main compartment is packed but they still function perfectly. All hardware is sturdy but light weight. The YKK zoos can be a bit stubborn but I expect that’s because it’s brand new. Not so much as it’s inconvenience you. Love the built in rain cover, ample size and quick deploying. It can be detached and if you were to leave it detached you’d have another fair sized pocket on the underside of the bag. As for comfort, it is lighter than expected when empty. I’ve filled it but have no scales, so not sure how heavy it is, but it doesn’t bulge like the Bergen I’ve replaced with this. The plate and two aluminium poles that comprise the internal frame appear to be removable via a zipped compartment inside the main compartment. The stitching appears solid and complete all around however it looks strained in some places where I’ve (over)filled a pocket or two. However I gave it a pretty good tug before I loaded the bag and the seams didn’t give at all. The material isn’t as thick as the DD Bergen, but feels strong and doesn’t look like it’s going to give without the aid of something properly sharp and pointy. Once loaded I adjusted the 8 way torso length adjusted and loosened the shoulder straps to put it on. It felt lovely around the waist, but seemed to be sagging at the back, which was not a pleasant feeling as it was tugging at my shoulders. Luckily I found two more strap adjusters and when I pulled those tight, the whole pack was shifted close against my back and the weight disappeared off my shoulders completely. So take the time to adjust everything properly and you’ll find an excellent and confortable heavyweight cavernous bag! As a guide I’m carrying:- 1 x Hammock 1 x Underquilt 1 x 3x3 tarp 1 x 4 season sleeping bag Tree huggers, whoopie slings, 30m spool of paracord, 4 x carabiners. 1 x steel cylinder style camping stove 1 x titanium bush box stove 1 x Coleman performance gas canisters 440g 1 x stacking cook set (pan, pot, accessories) T-shirts, shemagh, scrim scarf, 2 pair long johns, spare socks. Micro fibre travel towel. 2 x collapsible cups Assorted plastic pots/cutlery/coffee bags Fire kit Trowel Collapsible stool. Head torch. The only thing I can’t get in there is the spare gas canister, but I don’t really need it with the two multi fuel stoves! I think most experienced wild campers would probably agree the bag can hold more than is actually needed quite adequately! Definitely buy it!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 – Brilliant First Hiking Rucksack, Absolutely Loads of Space!
I bought this MOUNTAINTOP 80L as a starter hiking/camping rucksack, and as a first-time buyer of this type of large hiking bag, I've definitely not been disappointed. So far, it's brilliant. It's absolutely massive and incredibly roomy, with enough space for a proper camping setup rather than just the basics. To give people a better idea of what 80L means in real-world use, I've been able to pack/carry my camping equipment together, including: ✓ Tent – depending on the packed size; mine can accommodate my Night Cat-style 1–4 berth tent ✓ Pillow ✓ Food ✓ Water ✓ Gas camping stove and gas canister ✓ Small hiking axe set ✓ USB camping light ✓ Spare USB chargers and phone cables ✓ Hiking pole ✓ Camping cookware/cutlery set, including things like a pan, cup and frying pan And there's still the benefit of being able to organise everything throughout the different areas of the rucksack. One feature I particularly like is the dedicated hydration bladder compartment. There's also an opening for the drinking hose/nozzle, so you can keep your water bladder inside the backpack and route the hose out for easy access while walking. That's a really useful feature on a proper hiking bag. For a beginner like me, the amount of equipment I've been able to organise and carry in one rucksack has been impressive. One Negative – The Waist Pockets The only part I'm disappointed with so far is the waist-belt pockets. They're not particularly useful for my phone. While actually wearing the backpack, I struggle to get my phone into them comfortably, and they're awkward enough that I can barely make proper use of them. I'd definitely like to see larger and easier-to-access waist pockets, particularly considering that a phone is one of the obvious things hikers may want within immediate reach. That aside, though, I genuinely can't complain. For my first large hiking rucksack, this has given me exactly what I wanted: huge capacity, plenty of room for camping equipment, hydration-bladder support and lots of practical storage. I'm extremely happy with my choice as a first-time buyer. Aside from those waist pockets, it's a 10/10 from me! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great front opening backpack
I travelled around Asia for 6 months with around 23kg on my back. I will start off by saying this was very uncomfortable for long periods of time but then I was carrying a lot, maybe if you don’t plan on filling it to full capacity it would be fine. Weight wasn’t distributed very well, straps weren’t that comfortable. I found even though I have a long torso there was such a large gap between my back and the rucksack it made me walk hunched over to support it, despite me putting most heavy items at the base of the rucksack so that my hips would support the weight, I am 5”7 for reference and I wore the torso adjustment on the mid setting but didn’t find it made much difference to this issue. The waist strap was also far too big for me this is very important to note if you are considering buying this rucksack, for a size 8 female I was not able to tighten it enough around the waist for support, had it of tightened up more it may have been more comfortable. I do think for this reason it is probably built better for a man. The main aspect is that I could open the rucksack from the front all the way round and the bottom this made it SO! easy to unpack all of my packing cubes and fit everything in, I couldn’t have coped with a top opening bag only. The appearance is great I loved the simple look of it, not too bright or feminine just simplistic, also quite liked all the useful shortening straps. I would say it’s a very durable bag, it was subjected to a lot of manhandling and throwing about onto coaches trains airports and floors, nothing has broken yet. Good bag overall I would recommend for the price! If you are looking for something more luxury in terms of comfort then spend the extra money elsewhere :)

Great quality
Comfortable, reliable and has enough space for plenty of material/clothes. I already used it for 5 intercontinental hiking trips!

Very roomy backpack
I found this backpack has tons of room plus several hanging points to hang items on the outside. All in all I'm very pleased with it. The material feels a good quality. Zips open and close nicely. I also like the idea of being able to access items from either the top or front. Brilliant if you need to find something quickly. It's certainly good value for money.

Brilliant!
Ordered this back pack for my son who went 4 weeks to Tanzania, he had so much to take but we managed to fit it all. The bag is well designed and lightweight and survived the trip, no issues to report. Definitely good value for money 👌

Its man enough - are you?!?!
HUGE backpack that could quite possibly keep everything INCLUDING the kitchen sink inside. I bought this backpack for a camping trip/hike. It was loaded to the gills with everything we "thought" we would need - purely on the basis that there was so much room left afte packing the essentials. Every part of the pack is well made with no unfinished stitching or sub-standard areas (even inside the pack). A small gripe would be that this is a little on the weighty side of things even when empty. This was only amplified further as it was filled and carried around for the weekend! It felt like i was giving my 2 children (10years & 12years) a piggy back - AT THE SAME TIME! I felt destroyed at the end of it. Little could be done at that time though as we had no other means of splitting the pack down to share the carry between us. It was a harsh lesson learned! So, although the backpack itself is more than capable of transporting around at full capacity - make sure the wearer is too! What seems manageable when you "try it on" and walk around the house for 2 minutes, isnt a great litmus test of doing it for real over possible uneven terrain for hours on end. We will be buying smaller packs to divide the load for the next trip! I have used it since with a more realistic weight and found it to be very comfortable with the customisable strap height etc. Good pack but beware of the cavernous volume in side and the resulting bulk of weight!

Soddisfatto
