Great iPad especially for younger children
I bought this for my grandaughter's 5th Birthday. She loves it and managed to operate it fairly quickly with some guidance. In particular it was helpful that there was verbal instruction as well as words on the screen which allowed her to use it independently sooner. In this respect useful for younger children who cannot yet read. Educational as well as fun and more sturdy than an normal iPad.

Don't even go there
Worst thing I have ever purchased. Having bought it for my daughter's Christmas present at the end of September I can no longer return it. After charging it and downloading an app bundle (for another £40) none of the games work as the thumbnails are grey and the games can not be open. Following advice from Leapfrog who clearly have no idea why we have this problem the Leapad will now not even turn on and the latest advice is try a different lead (which I don't have) or try a differnt computer (which I don't have). Been on the phone numerous times to Leapfrog to resurrect the problem to no avail.

Great 1st Tablet
This is a present for our 4 year old daughter, she uses the I-pad but we wanted her to have her own for games and learning. She has not yet used it but it seems easy to use, setting up was easy peasy and easy to download games. Don't buy the actual cartridges unless you are sharing them between consoles as they are cheaper to down load on the leappad and you won't ever lose the cartridge. It seems durable, quite heavy..we ordered a gel skin too for extra protection. We purchased for a bargain £45 when it was on offer - I would probably pay full price based on what I've seen so far...will update if any different! The ONLY negative is the American voice on the menu.

Educational !
Ideal gift. Beautifully boxed. Looks really expensive when packed in its boxed. The purple is a lovely colour. My six year old loves this. The leap pad itself is very educational. There are some free games on it. You can take photos with it but the resolution is not so great. The item is very easy to use and is strong enough and hard wearing.

Excellent product and excellent customer service from Amazon.
My daughter absolutely loves hers. Only thing is she had it a day and screen kept going off. Got in touch with Amazon and they have been brill. Sending a replacement aswell as the download cards I brought. Excellent service from Amazon again. Can't wait for her new one to arrive so she can play and learn again.

It was just a metal thread net keeping it all so it was very easy to come apart
Having already a Leapad 3 I thought that it would be of the same robustness. However, within 3-4 times my 4 year-old girl used it, she managed to 'eat her way through' the metal net on the point of the stylus making the stylus to stop functioning. It was just a metal thread net keeping it all so it was very easy to come apart. Any idea how to get another one? Amazon don't seem to stock any.
