Charcoal is a very fragile medium, 1 broken, but a lovely smooth, rich tone achieved with these.
This pack arrived well packaged, though one charcoal pencil was broken throughout, no matter how I sharpened it, I used a sharp craft knife, hand cranked sharpener, and an electric one, but nothing worked, I gave up having lost more than half the pencil, it was fractured the full length. Charcoal is a very fragile medium I know, and the other pencils are okay so far. Lovely smooth, rich tone achieved with them.

Great charcoal pencils
The only reason I didn't give these 5 stars is that the 'lead' (charcoal) keeps breaking so easily when I try to sharpen them, even when trying the various recommended techniques for sharpening charcoal pencils (they will always be more delicate than other pencils). However, apart from that, they are excellent charcoal pencils which make a beautiful mark with the convenience of a pencil - so much cleaner than raw charcoal.

👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽 Pencils broken on the inside, tip keeps falling off!
The media could not be loaded. Don’t like it. I don’t know if it’s because it’s charcoal, but these pencils are not good at all, either they were broken on the inside during delivery or it’s just rubbish... basically I can’t seem to sharpen these pencils because the tip keeps falling off and I need a sharp tip or at least close to that to work with it... I can’t even work with them, they have no use for me if I keep sharpening and the top falls off 👎🏽👎🏽

Absolute rubbish!
Rubbish! Couldn’t sharpen them from brand new, as leads kept breaking. Ended up with two of them 2” long BEFORE I’d even used them. I bought two packs, and the same happened to all 6 of them. Total waste of money. Avoid!!!

Seem okay, although when I received them and tried to sharpen them the lead tended to snap a lot, but i assume this is from carelessness during shipping.

Maybe damaged in transit?
Started off well but I think they may have been roughly handled in transit as the cores are really shattered the further up the pencil you get. I was unable to use the sort pencil as badly damaged. A bit disappointing but maybe from a different supplier may be better?
