Exactly what I needed and better than expected for the cost.
I'm quite happy with this. It came with ear buds that actually have decent sound quality and a USB cord to connect it to your computer if you want. The directions are easy to read and understand. It has a feature that will automatically switch to the other side of the cassette when the first side is finished. There's a switch that is supposed to turn this off, but mine didn't appear to work. I don't need it to, so it doesn't bother me. But it was worth mentioning.

Would not record more than 3 seconds
I really hoped this would perform as described. Prior to purchasing this, I researched the options available, watched review videos, and compared to many other similar products. This is essentially the same product as all the others out there, lightweight plastic with poor instructions written in even worse English. I hoped that in spite of this, I could record directly to a flash drive, making this an option for greater portability with cassette conversion when visiting family who have cassettes with family recordings, etc. Unfortunately, this product did NOT work as described. I tried numerous ways to record, read and re-read the instructions, tried different cassettes, different flash drives, researched other online instructions, and in the end although it looked like the recording was happening, when the USB drive was removed and plugged into my computer, there were multiple files but only one held any data. This however consistently held only recorded 3 seconds from the cassette. The other files held no data and when trying to open them, said they were corrupt or not accessible. The sound quality on the cassette was not great - being a non-commercial recording, but the sound on the converter was even worse, picking up all kinds of noise from the unit itself, and the audio cut out almost entirely in many sections. Knowing this was a low budget device, I still had hopes it would work even at a low level. Unfortunately, this hope was in vain. Maybe others might get lucky and some units might work better, but I would NOT recommend this product.

Looks, feels, and is cheap, but it works great! (so far!)
I give this 4 stars, not 5, because the quality is very sketchy (as you might expect at this price). If you accidentally drop this, it will probably shatter into 50 pieces (it is NOT your 1980s Walkman)! It is very flimsy!! Having said that, it works! I was able to capture my brother's taped guitar music to MP3 on my thumb drive, and the sound is excellent, indistinguishable from the cassette quality (no additional noise or static etc). It did what I needed it to do! I will note that the "automatic" mode where it detects the breaks between songs automatically and creates a new track (song) is not really reliable; it is too sensitive, creating multiple songs where the tape has simply gone to a quiet part of a song. I'm still playing with settings though; maybe I can adjust this sensitivity level somehow. Overall, I am thrilled that it preserved my brother's tape to MP3, and hopefully with special care, it will last for a while!

Great sound quality, easy to use, and a great value.
This converter is tremendous! With two AA batteries it is a stand alone device. Using the "manual record" function you can selectively record certain songs. With the "auto record" function it will record the whole tape and it partitions each song into a separate MP3 file. It just sits on my desk while I work and downloads the music; it is so simple to use. With "auto record", if a song has a pause in it, the program starts a new file. You can merge the two files back into one song using Audacity, a free program, or you can use the "manual record" function to selectively record that song. I listen to music everyday using a variety of media. I have still have some cassette tapes that I used to enjoy a lot; for years I have had no way to play them in my vehicles. There was nowhere or no modern format in which to purchase them but I just couldn't quite bring myself to throw the tapes away. The MP3 files can be burned to a CD, played on a computer, or added to iTunes. My old tapes have joined my active library again. Most of all I was so pleasantly surprised by how good the sound quality is! The converter doesn't improve the sound but it creates an MP3 file with sound quality equal to the cassette.

The playing speed of the ezcap 230 is much faster than normal.
After doing transfer of few audio cassettes to MP3 I have realized that the speed of cassettes playing is much faster than normal. So the voice becomes sharp and shrill. It sounds very abnormal. I still have a lot of work to do. Kindly suggest. I could speak to someone in technical.

User manual should be user friendly. I am still not able to record on USB.
It needs to be user friendly. You can post video for how to use.
