Brilliant little game
Brilliant little game. Very easy to learn. We play this with our 5 and a half year old who is cat mad. She grasped the game quickly, though she needs some practice in keeping a straight face when she draws a good card. Each round can be short, lasting several minutes, which is perfect for younger kids. It's great for memory, observation, numeracy and strategic thinking with a good dose of luck thrown in so it doesn't get predictable. She wins as often as we do which means she doesn't get discouraged from playing. We have not tired of playing this game and have taken it overseas with us as it doesn't need much room so can be played in waiting rooms etc. The box is oversized given the size of the cards, but we happily make room for it in handbags because its such a great game. Often enough our daughter has voluntarily switched off the TV to play it. The illustrations are cute and colourful and the packaging is quite handsome so it's a good gift. I will definitely be checking out other Gamewright games. Another cat card game that we also like (but not as much as this one!) is Crazy Cats which is a cat version of Uno.

Cute game, daughter enjoys it
It’s a little confusing at first - I can recommend looking up a few of the play through videos online - but worth sticking with it. A fun game and my seven-year-old loves it.

Great family game.
My son got this card game given by a friend as a gift. Back then he was maybe 8 or 9. We all love it. It's a quick, fun game that we often play in the evenings as you don't always want to play an hour long board game. And there is a bit of easy maths as well by adding all the numbers. We keep on buying it now as gifts for others as well. I'd say the right age is prob from 6 or 7. My older son is now 11 and still happy to play it.

Quick to learn, but addictive!
My 6 year old nephew loves this game. The rules are easy to understand and he got the concept really quickly. My 4 year old niece was helped by the pictures of mice on the low scoring cards and rats on the high scoring cards - she was quickly collecting mice while discarding rats and her understanding of the numbers improved as she played. The short game play (one round can be played in a few minutes and a game can be made of as many or as few rounds as you choose) means nobody gets bored half way through. A really fun card game that can be played by adults and children, with everybody winning some games. Helps children learn numbers and if they are old enough they can also practice their adding skills.

It's a great game. We play it nearly every day - our kids are 5, 5 and 4 years old so don't be put off my the recommended age - just means they'll need help adding up the score at the end. Aim of the game is to get the lowest score. Cats are 5 and below; rats are 6-9. Deal 4 cards faced down - awesome if your kids can't hold a few cards in their hand yet (despite having a card holder too!). Peek at the 2 outside cards and do not look at the middle 2. Then draw a card from the pile and either discard it or choose to swap it for one of your facedown cards until you think you have the lowest score. When you think you have the lowest score, you knock and say 'Rat-a-tat-cat' and everyone turns their cards over and adds them up! We spend a little time adding up so it's educational too. It's great for memory; strategy - you can swap cards with other players if you draw a 'swap' card; and it's fun. Each game doesn't last that long so it's good to have a few games before they've had enough. Another great game by Gamewright and I'd say that our kids prefer this a little bit more than Sleeping Queens.

Such a great game for every age - and can teach younger kids basic math without them even realising it. This game is a stock standard camping card game for all our family to play
