Koegel Pickled Ring Bologna Qty. 4

As a German sausage/cold cut afficionado, I am happy to have detected this product. I am generally very disappointed with USAmerican standard-types of bologna, though there are very good versions by some niche producers.When I happed to come by this one while browsing amazon, I thought "let's try it" but did not expect much. Wow, was I wrong. I never had a pickled ring bologna in Germany. It is (or at least THIS one is) simply great.German "sausage lovers", you gave to try this!

I grew up in the north and ring bologna is hard to come by in Florida.

This is a taste of home. I grew up on this as a snack sliced on crackers. It makes for a great change to the normal summer sausage sliced as a snack. Price is a touch high but understandable with the care they take shipping to you. Cold pack shipping. Again this stuff is great.

I would have left a photo but all four rings are long gone! I have been missing this since I moved to Texas from Indiana in the early eighties. Nobody down here had ever heard of it. Got a handful of converts out of this shipment for sure, and I say handful because I really didn’t give much of it away! My Grandpa turned me on to it as a kid and I never forgot it all these years. It came quick, still cold, and worth the price. I’ll be doubling my order next time.

First, I opened one of the rings, the smell was as I (75 yrs old) remember from 1955. Then, I hacked off a large chunk and took a large bite. This took me back to Barnie MacDonald's grocery store in Union Lake, MI. This is some awesome stuff. Thanks for keeping my mind young.

I'm from Michigan living in Ca. This is hands down the only pickled baloney that I'd even consider buying.

I grew up in Michigan, and had been craving these though I hadn't had them for over 40 years. Though expensive from normal retail it was still a nice treat. My wife who is from Scotland said that "it wasn't bad, but is an acquired taste". Well worth buying for a treat every now and then.

I received my order on September 10th and the date on the product said sell by aug 21st. I guess this is how you get rid of your close dated product? Not returnable. Buyer beware!
