Great film
Great film, maybe one for older Moomin fans with scenes of gambling. But we enjoyed this film so much. The humour is great and I highly recommend this to Moomin fans, particularly older ones.

Hugely disappointing but only because of the awful voices
As a Moomin lover, I had high hopes for this - which meant perhaps my expectations were too high. The visuals are lovely - and a very sympathetic treatment of the original drawings, but the whole was utterly spoiled for me by the atrocious voice casting and acting in English. Not a single voice was right - to the extent of making a nice little story almost unwatchable at times. It felt unrehearsed and amateurish, despite featuring some actors I quite like. Why on earth we couldn't have the option of the Finnish or Swedish voiced version with English subtitles is beyond me - having watched excerpts from both, both casting and acting were impeccable.Perhaps it will be better appreciated by people who aren't real Moomin fans and don't really care.

Very enjoyable
My children are fans of the Moomins, so I was a bit wary after reading the other reviews. However this was a very pleasurable watch and the children themselves absolutely loved it. The animation is typically quirky and I think creates a an appealing modern twist on the earlier cartoon series, and the voices weren't bad, just different, and worked fine in my view. An enjoyable and well made film which will no doubt get further airings in our house!

Nice movie
Nice movie. Well made and entertaining. Good quality of video image (The only Moomin DVD around which is of good quality). As far as I know the only movie made by the French team (by Xavier Picard). The Japanese made series are great but the DVDs are of horrible quality...

Fresh and Fun
A delight for Moomin fans and a good introduction for those new to this world. The story is gentle and well-suited to young viewers. The animation does a good job of capturing Moomin creator Tove Jansson's wonderful drawings. Perhaps not quite as charming as the 'felt' animations from the 1970s, but definitely worthwhile.

Cute moomin film!
Even though this isnβt as the original animation of Moomin, this film is funny and well made. As an adult I thought it is a quirky representation of the French Riviera - especially the Cannes Film Festival. The children I gave this to (aged 3 and 5) absolutely loved it!

Moomin fun for all ages
This was great, gentle fun for all the family - I loved it and my grandkids did as well. I didn't know they still made films like this but I'm glad they do. The scenes of Snork Maiden modelling I found especially funny. A joy from beginning to end!
