tado° Extension Kit (Add-On) - Hot Water Control & Dual Channel Wireless Receiver For tado° Smart Thermostats

I must admit it, I am geek when it comes to it gadget and I am always looking for things to improve heating controls. Initialy I bought the thermostat and the extension together from eBay but while installing I made a fatal mistake and I blew the extension! My own fault anyway. So I had to buy a second one from Amazon. It arrived very fast and this second time I was able to fit it in literally 30 secs, as I already knew what I was doing. Thermostat and extension connected within seconds to the bridge and heating was up and running in no time. The use experience has been excellent so far. I haven't had any connection drops so far, a month. The conform levels in my house have improved dramatically as I only had a timmer programmer, no room thermostat. The use of the whole system is so simple. You input your conform levels during the day and night and forget about it, tado does everything for you then. It knows when I leave the house and when I am coming back. The most impressive feature for me so far is how it is smart enough and adjust the heating period to reach your desired temperature taking into account the outside temperature. It only learns how long it takes for your house to reach the desired temperature. Overall, very happy and looking forward to tado improving the app and releasing the multi zone this next winter. I am happy to recommend tado to anyone like me who is a bit geeky and is mad about heating controls at home = running your house more efficiently.

Very good product and easy installation. Just follow the instructions and you should be able to do it in 5 mins yourself.The only trouble I had was when trying to replace this with a new equipment the serial number update feature isn’t available in the app and hence had to resort to using chat based support. Unfortunately, being a weekend, there was no support available and then I had to leave voicemail on urgent helpline number. After 2-3 voicemail attempts and waiting for few hours the issue was resolved. It would have been great if this simple feature is available in the app itself.

We switched over from a Nest 2nd Generation Thermostat to Tado to allow for zoning in up to 10 zones. The install took a very long time and numerous calls to Tado compared to Nest which was plug and play. The issue wasn't wiring the extension kit, but rather to get the Thermostat to function with the extension kit. The technical support team were very helpful in the matter and it turned out the issue was as simple as outdated firmware on both devices, made worse by the fact that the thermostat was on such an old firmware that it could not talk to the extension. The reason this wasn't an issue with the Nest is because the thermostat and Heat Link come as a bundle instead of separate. Once the firmware was up to date (this took more than 24 hours...) it was all working hunky-dory. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5Also worth adding is that the Tado App on Android has a few issues when adding new devices - it just won't connect to them - often requiring me to delete the data for the application. I have had this issue on various Samsung devices. But once it's all set up it works nicely.

Very easy to install the whole system (one thermostat, 7 smart TRVs and one extension kit).The extension kit is definitely needed so that you can control the firing of the boiler by the thermostat and the smart TRVs.It was necessary to call Tado to ask them to include all my TRVs in the heating circuit, i.e. if one TRV needs heat, it asks the boiler to fire up through the extension kit (by default this is done only through the thermostats, but if you call them up, they configure your TRVs to do that as well).So far I love this solution and the individual control of the TRVs. I am in one room in the house during the day and I want only that room to be heated. It works great. Looking forward to checking the improvements in energy consumption after a few months usage

I have to say it was easy to set up straight away. What I did do was to buy the extension kit to make the wired TADO thermostat wireless. This is when I found out that you do need TADO tech as they change the device remotely as to how it acts. You contact them by email, but they do respond but may ask a lot of questions but they will get you there. Love the Geofencing. Heating temp drops when it doesn't detect anyone in the house and comes back on before you return. The distance can be set by you.

I had a conventional wired thermostat very close to the boiler and was very unhappy about where it was placed and the lack of accuracy in setting the house temperature. After a quick review of available products, and a very careful examination of the wiring of the existing timer for the boiler and pump, I purchased and installed the smart thermostat and extension kit with the help of the Tado instructions on the web.These products work really well. I have now located the thermostat where I want it, and can accurately control the temperature in my house. I have reduced the desired temperature, the house heating is much more comfortable, and my gas consumption has reduced significantly. Turning off the heating when there is nobody at home is a small bonus, for us at least.

Kit estensione per dislocare il termostato ambientale sia nel caso di impianti che non abbiano portato alcuna cablatura di comando in casa, per chi ha solo la cablatura analogica on/off, per chi quindi vuole trasformare un impianto a gestione analogica on/off del riscaldamento in un impianto digitale qualora la nuova o la preesistente caldaia siano compatibili col sistema OT (Open Therm). Il termostato ambientale diventa quindi termostato wireless a batterie e il kit estensione controlla la caldaia. Funziona sia in modalità potential free/volt free/dry contact che switched live ed è fondamentale se si necessità di contatto wet poiché il termostato da solo consente solo la cablatura volt free. Non è specificato dal produttore per questioni di casistica e offerte di mercato (l'internet bridge è normalmente presente solo nello starter kit con termostato...), tuttavia, avendo o reperendo un internet bridge il kit estensione potrebbe far funzionare l'impianto anche in assenza di termostato o essere sufficiente per la gestione con teste termostatiche (versione tech-nerd fai-da-me del sistema Tado°).Il prodotto nel complesso, unitamente agli altri accessori necessari è probabilmente il miglior sistema di gestione domotica del riscaldamento per qualità dei materiali, possibilità di personalizzazione, integrazione con gli assistenti vocali, interfaccia grafica, precisione, intelligenza delle regolazioni e dell'apprendimento, compatibilità con le caldaie, versatilità e scalabilità. Compatibile con il controllo digitale tramite l'interfaccia Open Therm, per il controllo in remoto o pianificato della temperatura sia dell'acqua sanitaria che, in automatico secondo intelligenza artificiale e programmazione, di quella del riscaldamento, la potenza del bruciatore e la pompa di circolazione. Si integra perfettamente con Amazon Alexa e Google Assistente, la connessione è sempre stabile ed automatica, la presenza di un internet bridge a parte consente di garantire fluidità ed immediatezza dell'installazione lato connettività. Tuttavia, essendo un sistema completo e complesso, non è per forza facile da installare per chi non ha alcuna esperienza o passione del settore. E' necessario avere chiare le caratteristiche del proprio impianto di riscaldamento o del progetto, il funzionamento digitale della propria caldaia nei confronti dell'interfaccia Open Therm e conoscere le caratteristiche di connettività e gestione remota degli IoT tramite app o assistenti vocali. Molto chiara e dettagliata la parte dei tutorial e delle domande/risposte anche per l'installazione fai-da-te. L'assistenza risponde circa in un giorno molto semplicisticamente occupandosi in remoto dei problemi o fornendo soluzioni.

Excellent chauffage intelligentProduit indispensable pour l’installation du système TADO.Système très simple d’installation et permet une réelle économie sur sa consommation de gaz/mazout.Installation bien expliquée, même pour un bricoleur du dimanche ; il n’y a qu’à suivre les instructions pas à pas.Application associée permet de « détecter » votre présence à la maison et d’activer / désactiver les radiateurs. Cette app permet aussi de programmer un cycle de chauffe hebdomadaire et peut aussi agir de façon intelligente.Je suis passé par un système Netatmo qui n’était pas aussi polyvalent que TADO. Idem pour le Honywell qui est bien plus compliqué à l’installation et à l’utilisation.Très user friendly

Fácil instalación! Tado te acompaña paso a paso para la correcta instalación. El asistente te pide el modelo de termostato que tenias, relé y la caldera. Mi caldera de pellet no figuraba en su listado, pero en 24 horas te mandan un correo con las instrucciones. El kit extensión funciona correctamente. Bien cosntruido y resistente.Es demasiado bonito para una sala de máquinas de la calefacción!

Pratico e semplice da usare. Molto utile per quando si è fuori casa. Consegna velocissima!
