IVSO NVIDIA SHIELD K1 8.0 Case Slim Smart Cover Case for NVIDIA SHIELD K1 8.0 inch Tablet (Black)

I bought a Nvidia Shield Tablet a few weeks ago, and I've been looking for a case ever since. There are not too many good cases out there, and the official case is somewhat overpriced and only protects the front face. I stumbled across this case and it fits the bill perfectly. Despite the bargain price, the build quality is really premium, Its made of hard plastic with a soft cloth material that covers the screen. The cover is magnetic, so it will stay closed when you are transporting the tablet around town. This magnetic cover will also, awaken your tablet from sleep, when opened, and doubles, as a neat kickstand when folded up. All the cutouts are in the right place, and the speakers are not impeded. All the corners, front and back of the tablet are protected. I would feel confident that it would survive, and be scratch free, if dropped (not that I would test out the theory lol). I will add, that there is an additional cutout for a stylus that was meant for the first generation model. It serves no purpose, as the latest Nvidia Shield tablet doesn't have a stylus. I purchased a Nvidia knockoff case a couple of years ago and the 3 part cover that covers the glass of the tablet had very strong and pressure resistant quality to it.In the 2 years since buying my first, this is the 2nd case I've tried and they all suffer from the same problem. The 3 part cover on the front of the case has been reformulated to some cheap trashy and very bendy material that I doubt will protect the glass front of the tablet if pressed hard.The problem is that they all seem to be like this now, cheap garbage. A lighter material costs less to ship, and I believe that's what's happened, they saved a few Yuan but made it more likely that someone will damage their tablet.I'm seriously considering spending the whopping pocket gouging, unjustifiable price that Nvidia charge for the original case, that's how bad it has gotten.

I was tempted to give this 3 stars, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt since it was so cheap.Firstly, my one stinks of fish. An odd thing admittedly, and maybe an unavoidable part of the manufacturing process, but the soft inner part really stinks, so much so it left a smell on my hands after using. I've since given it a scrub and a dousing in Febreze and I'm hoping that'll do the trick. It's certainly better than it was, but it still has a faint maritime stench which I'm hoping will get better.It also doesn't fit particularly well. One corner of the Shield is constantly popping out. The hard shell back seems to be slightly bent forcing the tablet out. It's fine once it's in but the slightest movement and its trying to escape. Again I'm hoping this will get better in time.It's also mis-advertised. Although it fits (just) it isn't for the K1 but the original Shield. It still has the cutout on the back for the stylus and while not a big deal is slightly annoying. I wish this had been more obvious from the photos.If I wasn't so keen on keeping my Shield in a case I'd send it back.

I bought this case to protect the screen of my nVidia K1 tablet but also to use as a stand.I have no complaints so far - the tablet snaps into place and is held securely. There is enough room around the case for the camera, Micro USB, HDMI and speakers to be used without being blocked.The magnetic 3-fold cover locks the tablet when closed over and wakes it up (but doesn't unlock it) when opened. The cover can be folded into a triangle (as shown in the image) which allows the tablet to stand at a good angle for watching video content.This case has made multiple trips in suitcases and rucksacks over the last few months and so far has kept the tablet out of trouble.Definitely recommended.

I've been using this case for about 5 months now and it does an excellent job. It is very sturdy and has already protected my tablet from a couple of drops. The case closed with a magnetic clasp which is very strong. Closure triggers the auto lock. I'm impressed and well worth the money to protect a £150 tablet.

Had this about a month now. I would of preferred the official cover but was feeling tight so opted for this one because it was reviewed well.It does add a bit of bulk to an already fairly chunky 8" tablet but it does do a really good job. If protects the back from knocks (unlike the official one) & so far seems really well made. No loose magnets or frayed edges to the front flip. Also the magnets work really well when rolling the front flip cover up to make the stand, I wasn't expected it to hold the weight of the tablet at all to be honest. The magnetic auto wake/sleep works flawlessly and is a great feature because the on/off button on the Shield K1 is a bit of a pain.Overall a really good case. Very happy with it.

Nice, cheap and cheerful case. This was made for the original Shield Tablet as it has the cutout for the Stylus, but most importantly it does fit. It is quite a weighty case, the magnet securely keep the flap on. It sit's up nicely when folded for handsfree viewing.

This is a great little case for the Nvidia Shield - it fits it nice and snug and folds up to provide a stand which has just the right amount of angle on it for viewing on a train/aeroplane.It loses one star as the magnets are a little on the weak side and it opens a bit too easily for my liking.
