Better than a regular hammer in the right situations!
When you need to drive nails in odd or overhead spots this autohammer is the perfect solution. I just re-installed my garage door weather trim molding using this and it made the job far easier and most likely kept me from damaging the molding in the process.Pros:No recoil - it is easy to keep steady, not difficult to control.Fast - will drive a medium size trim nail quickly.Minimizes damage - I was able to drive the nail snug with the trim without any hammer marks.Cons:May not work for large nails, especially driving into very hard wood.Loud- it is noisy.Staring a nail - I suggest driving a dimple to set the nail head in if possible. It makes it easier. All in all this made my trim installation much easier and cleaner, especially the overhead portion of the job.I then proceeded to go around the house and reset and nails popping up in my aluminum trim. This made it a fast and clean job, and kept me from damaging my trim. It also got into some tighter corners and spots easier than my regular hammer.I wasn't sure this would be a useful tool, but it has proven already to me to be a great purchase.

A Great Time and Work Saving Tool
I hang art shows once a month, for my local neighborhood arts group. This tool is a great time saver. I mostly use it with "Ook" hooks, where it seems less likely to bend the hardened steel nails than a regular hammer. The other day I used it to drive masonry nails into the joints of brick walls, to hang work at another venue. It worked well there. I don't think this tool would be appropriate for heavy-duty construction, but I have successfully used it to drive finishing nails for a home wood-working project.

Great Value for driving or removing nails in tight places--but be careful!
Bought it to be a "one-trick pony" for attaching electrical cable clamps in old 150 year old wood beams in small spaces. Every week I find a new uses for it to drive or back out nails in tight places. Beware: it is not foolproof nor is it automatic. Always watch where the "auto-hammer" percussion head and the nail are when using. Otherwise the head can slip off the nail and hurt your hand or nice woodwork as badly as a conventional hammer. Also the nail guide does not prevent overdriving, as some ads suggest. Excellent power and battery life for a 12 volt tool.

Great for wire stapes
What a great idea for a hammer! This makes it really easy to hammer in those wire staples for Romex, particularly in places where it's hard to swing the hammer. It makes the same kind of sound as an engraver and is fairly loud, but easy to control and works fast. Best way to get into tight spaces and is very comfortable to hold.
