Hard Hat covers very well but is not gloss. I like it and would buy again in conjunction with other Rustoleum paints.
This paint does indeed cover very well indeed, and seems to go over other paints (including 2-pack polyurethane and 100% zinc) also pu panel sealer without reaction. Something to watch for though is that over-spray also covers very well ! ..so particular care is needed in masking surrounding areas. Unfortunately this paint is not gloss finish, which I hadn't realised when I bought it. It has a matt finish, pleasant Devon cream colour. I've only just sprayed my first parts (of a car), so I can only comment at this time on using it ..not what it's like when dry, how tough it it, etc. First impressions though are good, but now I need to buy a clear lacquer to get the gloss finish I wanted. Later on I will try spraying over it with gloss Rustoleum, just to see if it works well as a base coat. It's ability to cover well is a great asset when not wanting to repeat painting over a different colour ..without incurring paint runs. .

Disaster
For a start this is certainly not high gloss, satin may have been a better description and applying more than very thin mists results in runs even after shaking the rattle can for 5 minutes. Secondly I applied this over another product from Rust-Oleum that was the same RAL number and was very high gloss, I bought the spray to try and get over the brush marks inherent in a metallic paint. They were not the same colour and the spray reacted to the base paint causing bubbles everywhere. This means that I am probably going to have to strip this frame completely and start again.

Used to re-touch a large garage door which had had duct tape stuck on in strips for party balloons and the top coat came off with the tape. The door had been painted with Rustoleum Combicolor RAL 2137, 7 or 8 years ago and the colour match was spot on even allowing for a bit of sunlight fading. two quick coats later and you can't see the join from about 5 feet away, and that will blend in over the next month or 2. Two quick coats and the green paint covered the dark brown underneath with no runs and dry in no time.

A quality product.
I used Rust-Oleum to repaint the speaker grilles on my JBL PA system. The original paint had peeled off in places and the bare metal underneath was showing signs of rust. After a little light preparation I applied the paint from the spray can and was delighted with the results - no need for primer or undercoat, quick drying, covers brilliantly and results in a resilient yet attractive gloss finish. All in all a quality product as far as I'm concerned, highly recommended.

it has fantastic coverage and although costs more than others it covers way more so works out cheaper , and you can handle item an hour after spraying !!!

Good colour and coats well
This is really good quality and durable paint. Used it for the fuel tank on my sherco trials bike as it has the same colour code according to sherco, the paint lays on really thick and drys nice and smooth. Gave it a little buff after and it was all good very happy with this paint, even had plenty left over for other things

Spray nozzle faulty
I bought this back in October and have only just got round to using it - however the spray nozzle on the bottle is faulty so that when pressed the product leaks out the bottom of the cap rather than through the spray hole. Complete waste of money!

Does what it says on the tin.
Used it to smarten up a Rayburn. Used the black version for years for LandRovers.
