You get what you pay for, mostly.
I already have a Leopard jet helmet, and I actually really like that, but I was planning a longish tour and wanted something that a) offered a bit more protection and b) was quiet enough to use with an intercom system.Delivery was very fast, but the helmet was packed in a bag, inside two cardboard boxes with no additional protection, so how many times it been hit in transit was anyone's guess. Everything was included, and on first inspection, the helmet looks well put together and stylish. In use, it was a different story, however. It has been noted on other reviews that Leopard helmets are on the snug side, and this was no exception, but already owning an open face version, I was expecting that. Like the open face version, this is easy to pull apart with the chin guard up, so was easy to put on, and a reassuringly snug fit once on. I have quite sticky out ears, but the pockets in this helmet fitted me nicely meaning I didn't have to fish around unfolding my ears. Unfortunately, when I tried to put my glasses on, I found it nearly impossible. For some reason the padding insisted on forcing my glasses up until the frames were touching the padding at the top of the helmet and I was peering through the bottom part of my lenses. In the end, I managed to get them in position only by tilting the helmet forwards, which meant the edge of the open visor was right in the top of my line of sight. This is also a single homologation helmet only, btw, which means it is only legal and certified with the chin guard down.OK, so chin guard down. Nothing. Up, down. Nothing. Head back, guard up and slammed down before it appeared to lock. Then my other half pointed out that only one side had locked in. The chin guard is unpadded and very, very flimsy, and the only was I found to reliably get it to lock, was to use both hands and squeeze it closed, but even doing that, it would often fail to engage on one side or the other. My old (and much more expensive) modular would lock securely with just one finger on the chin. This needed both hands and slamming down, which rearranged my precariously positioned specs. So, out for a test run. I'm not a huge fan of having a visor down unless it's chucking it down with rain, so I set off with it up. The helmet whistles. Even at 30 mph, it whistles and it is noisier than my Leopard open face lid, if I'm honest. I tried with the visor down, and it has three positions only: fully down and sealed, half way, with the rim right in my line of sight, and fully up where it cuts across the top of vision unless I am riding with my head bolt upright. Even with the visor down, it still whistles and is draughty. Next, I tried the sun visor. I'm a big fan of this on my other Leopard helmet, but on this one the control is a fiddly red switch on the left at the base of the helmet. You have to push it up and then rotate, and it is fiddly wearing gloves, and quite stiff. More significantly, the visor hits my nose and just makes everything look blue and slightly milky.Overall, this helmet is sort of what you'd expect for the money. It appears to have the right ECE 22.05 certification and E13 label on the strap (certified in Luxembourg), but it feels rather flimsy and I am really not at all sure I'd fancy my chances if I came down hard on that chin guard. It's noisy and draughty, too. If you want a flip front lid for delivering pizzas on a moped at max 30mph, this is probably fine, but I'm getting rid of it, I'm afraid.

For the money, this is amazing value
I am a 58 1/2 cm head and the L 59-60 fitted perfectly. I also wear glasses and they seemed to fit in fine. The flip front is great for town and petrol filling. I cannot comment on rain or noise as I only want it for sub 50 mph riding. The quality seems good to me. You do need to clip both sides down with a hand when you lower the flip front and the catches are stiff. The one annoyance I have is that the visor only has 3 settings: fully open, half open in line of sight and closed. I like to ride with the visor a crack open to keep the screen clean so I had to jam in a bit of paper. Like I say, if it was 200 I'd be annoyed, but for 40ish it's a bargain. Also, some mentioned that the sun visor is very stiff, actually there is a little tab on the catch that you have to press in as you move the lever, do that and it's easy. No idea about safety but presumably Amazon could sell it unless it had passed basic tests?

Good Helemt for a good price
The helmet is decent quality for a decent price. The sizing is quite tight but you can still get it on and off without any trouble. If you have accessories like bluetooth helmet speakers they attach easily and you still have room for your head inside. Overall a great helmet for the price.

Less than £40 you can't go wrong
So I've read the complaints on other reviews and really can't see what the problem is with a helmet that's less than £40!!I have one that was a M and it was a bit snug for me, so this time I went for 2 sizes above my normal and it fits perfectly even with mt glasses on.Noise levels are ok for what I do, the flip up is handy for shops and things and once you get used to the mechanism it's really easy to open and close. The sun visor is a nice feature and clears my glasses easily, the dropping and lifting of the sun visor is a bit tricky with gloves, apart from that great value range helmet.

Good purchase
Great product. Pretty tight fitting. I ordered it to the size chart afted measuring my head with a tape measure and I probably could have gone a size bigger. That being said I do have long hair on top so that could have been a factor. Good value for money though. Impressed with the visor and open face functions.

Grand job!
I chose a small size my head 56cm...fits great... press red button under the chin to lift front of helmet up and down. Easy peasy. I read another guys review and he couldn't get it closed again but if ye hold in that button she just closes easy....no need to batter it like he did... instructions weren't great at explaining that. You need to have a good look at it in fairness to figure it out. But on the whole....Great value for the money. Delighted 😊

Great value and everything works very nicely.
The matt black is just painted on and won't stay looking new for long but I guess that's kind of the point of a matt black lid. Anyway, would have given it 5 stars if the finish were better (it was on my missus' bright yellow one - just the plastic with no paint) as the sun visor and general usability of the chin strap and hinged chin-guard/visor is excellent. To be honest, you can't go wrong for this money and you'll never catch me paying many hundreds of pounds just for a name on a crash helmet.

Great price and very practical
I wanted to write a review about this item. I purchased in May. Its a little bit rattly when riding over 50, but you get used to it. This reason for the late review is 3 weeks ago I had an accident. A van ploughed into the back of me. I ended up in the windscreen. The helmet did its job. So comfy, well priced, very practical with the flip front. Thanks Leopard, saved my life
