Great value - works well
Needed to replace the chainset on my Claud Butler hybrid as the chain had begun to slip under load, and an internet search revealed this as the cheapest option. The hardest part of fitting was removal of the old set. You'll need an Allen key and a bike crank removal tool and a bit of determination, but fitting is a doddle, it simply slides onto the square shaft and is attached using the Allen key. This was an almost perfect fit requiring only very slight adjustment of the front derailleur to get the gear change to be perfect.I also replaced the chain and the freewheel at the same time as they all tend to wear together and I've found it a false economy to try to get by.It will be interesting to see how durable this chainset is, but so far I'm happy to have cured the chain-slip.

Change of Gear
Managed to replace the pedal crank which had a stripped thread & change the gearing of my mountain bike to make it more suitable for road use by fitting this new gear crank. Very little adjustment of gear selector required too, excellent replacement part!

Excellent quality "entry level" part
I was given a MTB which was gathering dust, swapped the knobbly tyres for Schwalbe city jets, discovered that on the flat and downhill I was running out of gears and replaced the 42/34/24t chainset with this. It's excellent quality for an entry-level part (better than the part it replaced) and gives me the extra top-end gear that I needed - result; about 5% time improvement on roads/tracks and no more frantic pedalling to no effect! Well worth the mod, however, you will need a crank puller (else risk trashing your bearings with hammer and chisel). I found that the distance between cogs was slightly greater, so the 42t derailleur on the bike couldn't quite cope - I got a compatible one from the same seller (their *bay shop as it happens) and a cable locally; and now my front gear changes are sweeet. To keep everything running well a slightly longer chain is also in order. If you're going down this route - don't forget a chain splitter.

Good
It is a good chainset, surprisingly light for the price. I thought the chainguard would be stronger, I'm worried that with time it may easily break off, but it's what I needed.

Shimano Torurney FC M131 chainset
This arrived in good time. I have to say that upon attaching it to the bike the cog teeth on the innermost cog came into contact with the bike frame. With the old chainset the teeth were at least 5 mil clear and the cog could move freely as it should. This would suggest that the square tapered hole was ever so slightly larger than that of my old chainset. I found a 'work around' but this was very disappointing.

FAST POST, WELL MADE, WELL PACKAGED, GREAT PRICE
FAST POST, WELL MADE, WELL PACKAGED, GREAT PRICE. MASSIVE DIFFERENCE FROM MY OLD ONE, NOW I CAN FINALLY KEEP UP WITH TRAFFIC WHATS A LOT SAFER THAN HOLDING UP TRAFFIC. I BOUGHT THE Shimano Tourney FRONT GEAR TO GO WITH IT AND THE SETUP IS PRETTY GOOD, UNTIL IVE HAD SOME PROPER USE I CAN GET BACK AND GIVE A BETTER LONG TERM REVIEW. SO FAR HAPPY

The chain set was easy to fit with a tool that I had bought ...
This was bought to replace the one I was taking off my bike and received it quite quick. The teeth on the rings on the chain set was a match with the chain set I was replacing so the gearing was the same. The chain set was easy to fit with a tool that I had bought for this purpose and the bike is working OK.This Item is worth the money and a good purchase.

Good value replacement
This replaced the worn out cogs on my Trek bike. They are an exact copy of the originals. I bought them in a set with chain and front ring. Good value. A mobile bike repair guy fitted them for £30 quid. This product is bigger than the original so the gear shift thingy had to be moved up by half an inch. The gearing is now a little higher (i.e. a bit harder to pedal) but I've got used to it.

Muy contento con la compra.
Ofrece bastante solidez. Me pareció mejor de lo que pensaba. Y solucioné un problema con mi bici antigua. Funciona muy bien.

Unas buena bielas y platos.
