Activity Gym (Camping Cubs)

Almost gave this 4 stars but that said "I like it" and I do genuinely love it so it still got 5! I guess I'll start with the minor bad points I've had. Unfortunately the apple hanging toy has a defect where the fabric isn't stitched around the mirror and the singing birdy came unstitched and fell off of the ring and felt loop he was attached to, which considering my son is only 3 months and does nothing more than bat at them, I was quite disappointed by. I have taken photo's and am going to write to Skip Hop and see if they will replace them :) Other than that, I really love this playmat!!! It's so much nicer than any others I've seen, beautiful design, lovely colours and friendly faces on the animals. My son has a woodland themed bedroom and I always gravitate towards anything woodlandy so of course I went straight for this! It's nice and padded, not thin as many others are. The quality really is superior (shame about above mentioned which I'm sure is a rareity) and my son absolutely loves it! He was starting to show signs of boredom before I got this and I'm sure other parents' will agree it's quite hard to entertain a 3 month old to start with because they can't do much. He loves to lie on his back on this and talk to the animals, the tweeting bird he beams at when I press it! He also loves tummy time with the cushion provided. All the materials are really soft and silky, easy to clean up the little bits of milk he spits out. It's machine washable too, though I haven't had to yet. Once he's bigger I plan on taking the bars off to use it as a floor mat. You can take the toys off individually for your baby to hold or you can hang them from a carseat or pram. Well worth the money! I just hope Skip Hop will replace the faulty toys :)

Absolutely love this product. Its not like your typical play mat that's super colourful and clashes with your home yet still very colourful. It is very cute and looks like a little camping site, it has different levels of toys hanging, each one is different. A turtle with a mirror belly which my daughter absolutely loves, a bear that's a rattle, a firefly that actually lights up and a raccoon that has a grip. To add to these hanging objects there's a mesh that has trees and a bird on it ie a forest. There's always something to catch their attention, if they look up its the hanging objects and if they look straight ahead there's the forrest to focus on and on the actual play mat there are several textures and a beautiful picture of the a camp scene which includes all the objects nicely tying everything together.

As well as being really cute, this is a well made product. It was easy to set up and looks great in my son's woodland themed nursery. There is plenty on here to amuse the baby. All the animals make different noises and there are different textures in the mat as well as some squeakers. The animals are also detachable, which is a bonus and there is a small pillow included to help with tummy time which I liked as you don't get with many of the other gyms. Although my baby is still a bit young to interact with it fully, he is already enjoying lying on the mat looking at the animals. A little more expensive than some other gyms we looked at (although a lot cheaper on here than at the department store I saw it in), but I think it is worth the money and it looks better quality than some of the cheaper ones.

We bought this for our son a few months ago. He was freaked out by the lights, sounds and music by many other gyms. This gym was really well made, and has so far lasted us for 3 months worth of spitting up. He loves being on his back in the gym, touching all of the different toys for their different textures and sounds. He loves tummy time on the mat, with the mirror and different textures. It collapses well so that we can put it away in its bag in the corner at the end of the day. Now that my son is starting to sit, we sometimes take off the "gym" part of it and just let him play with the toys on the mat. It travels well and is machine washable, which is awesome. We have washed it several times! My only reason for not giving it a 5 star is that the bird that tweets tweets in the head (and the squirrel squeaks in its head), both of which is hard to reach around 2.5-3 months when most babies start using activity gyms. However, he loves the teething ring attached to the bird, and loves holding the squirrel regardless! I highly, highly recommend!!!

Love this! Originally chose it because it is has less plastic than many of the other activity mats on the market. Slightly more expensive, but worth it. My baby (12 weeks) is really starting to enjoy the tummy time pillow and exploring the mat. Each toy has something exciting about it, like the squirrel with the squeaky head, the crinkly sounding wings of some of the birds. The owl has a bell in its tummy that makes a lovely noise. The toys are detachable which I have used sometimes on her bouncy chair for some variation and they can be attached to loops on the mat as well. I can see this activity gym will continue to be a firm favourite as my baby grows and develops more skills.

This is such a beautiful looking playmat but unfortunately the arms are too flimsy and don't stay standing, which we didn't realise straight away. Now my baby is old enough to interact with it unfortunately as soon as she grabs a toy the whole canopy just falls over onto her and so we can't let her play on it. Very disappointed.

This has given hours of entertainment for my little one. It is quite large though - I would say you need approximately 1.2m squared for this so it's definitely best placed in a corner. This large size is useful as it means it will last a long time. Some of the others on the market I have seen are smaller but I'm so glad that I went for this one as he isn't spilling off the base yet (4 months old). The detail of the hanging toys is great, he liked batting them all when he was younger but now he plays with the details on the owl a lot. It's not a cheap gym but I think it's worth the money.

This is a well made product. I did not expect it to be as large as it was. I expected lower quality. I was highly surprised. It is beautiful. My grandson loves it.

We had bought Fisher-Price Luv U Zoo Deluxe Musical Mobile Gym for our son (now 3 months old) and he would just lay there looking at the lights. When we bought the Skip Hop Treetop, he actually started grabbing for the toys and playing with them. He particularly likes the little green bird that plays the sound of birds tweeting in the woods. I had thought perhaps I was being unfair regarding the other gym as he had been younger when he was in it before so I brought it out and the exact same thing happened, he would lay there looking at the lights but not try to play with anything. He really seems to love the Treetop and having the mirror on the tree was a great idea as he rolls over just to admire himself in it. I love how the many of the Skip Hop toys give a "chime" sound and nothing seems to be overpowering to the baby. He had a stroller toy with a frog that was quite loud and he hated it, so we swapped out some of the toys from the Treetop gym and he's been much happier. I have since bought their 3 owl ball toy (which also fit on the gym, but there are plenty of toys that come with it so you don't need to get more - we would have been fine just with the gym and transferring the gym toys to his stroller and car seat) and the big owl with the various toys (small owl, teether, mirror, etc). I think you will be very happy with this gym as it is engaging, not too noisy, and the colors are really nice and not gaudy. From day one, our little boy has been very happy playing in it. Personally, I didn't find the pad any thinner than the the other play gyms that I've seen. It seems fine to me. I know that had been a worry of mine prior to purchase since it was commented on by others, but it wasn't a problem for me.
