Q: how to get the allumimum taste out

We were taught with the old Bialeti's never to wash the top section. Only rinse it with cole water. When the pot first arrives, make a 'sacrificial' pot of moka and throw it out. This will create the first film of coffee oils inside the upper pot that will keep your beverage from touching the aluminum from then on. It may take several pots to completely remove the aluminum taste, if you experience any.

Q: One-cup size can handle gas range, too small for gas range?

I thought I had responded... very well made but too small for my use...too small for gas burner...cute but useless...get the next size up...their definition of "cup" is not 8oz.

Q: how many ounces of coffee does this make? The cups must be very small.

Mix 2oz with 8oz of hot water for an Americano or with 8oz of hot milk for a cappuccino. For full effect you can whip the milk in a french press. The straight espresso (if brewed with find ground espresso and not regular ground coffee) that this makes is very strong by itself. You could drink a full pot of it but you'd be pretty wired, they're usually served in 1.5oz shots.
