Rajasthan Stone Art Unique Chess Sets and Board Box, Small 25.4 X 25.4 cm

I read some of the negative reviews forthis product and wasn't sure what to expect, but I took a punt. And ive been left pretty happy with my purchase.+ Very well crafted pieces! The pieces feel nice and look very well made. They feel like they are made of stone. The build quality is top notch.+ Board looks very nice and has a good built quality. It feels similar to the pieces, I think it might be stone or something mimicing stone too. But regardless it feels very good.+Wooden, handmade build. You can really tell this was a handmade piece. Not in the 'poor quality, awkward. uneven' way, but in the 'looks high quality and can see the craftsmanship put into it.- Wooden handmade build. Although I consider this a pro, I understand that many people seem not to like it. It is by no means a bad thing on my eyes but worth cautioning.-would like thicker hinges on the box. Although the hinges haven't given out or had any wear in the 2 months of use I've had them for. I'd still keep more.comfortablemwith chunky hinges on the box to keep it extra safe!Overall I would recommend this product as a good value, high quality chess board with high quality pieces and a handmade touch to it. It looks nice enough that I would consider this even as a centrepiece on the coffee table. But consider the negatives, if they are deal breakers for you then don't buy it.

Over the past few months I have been getting into playing chess with anyone that fancied a game, and so I started to look on here for chess sets but sadly most sets of decent quality are stupidly priced (over £50, which I cannot justify spending on a chess set). This product however is a very high quality set and is very reasonably priced, it arrived a week ahead of expected arrival so I was considerably pleased with my purchase.I would score the product 9/10, purely because I would have preferred an entirely stone set as opposed to stone board and wooden case but that is mere semantics.I would however score the seller (ShalinIndia) 10/10. Brilliant service, very high quality product, and speedy delivery. I also have my eye on the marble chess set and 5 dice set they sell, so I will be back.Cheers,E.

The wooden box is quite lightweight and doesnt feel sturdy enough. The inside of the box has a cheap felt lining and as another reviewer commented - the lining gets damaged badly when you try to pry out the pieces which seem to have been glued to it - possibly because the paint/raisin on them cannot stay dry in humidity and starts to stick to the lining.The pieces are carved out of granite but they are small (to go with this small board) and the carving is abysmal. Kids couldnt guess which piece was the Knight given that all 4 knights are very different and look more like a squished beetle.The only positive thing I can say is that the pieces are certainly hand carved - a machine cannot result in such inconsistencies and oddities in shapes.I wasnt expecting a great deal given the £20 price tag but it still felt inadequate

only thing I did not like was the fastening of the box other than that loved it

On receiving the chess set I was disappointed with the quality of the box, though the pieces were beautifully carved. After explaining I wasn't happy, they were very quick to reply and sort out my problem. Offering to send another of better quality. Overall the service was fantastic and, as I said, the pieces were truly beautiful.

Bought this for my 11 year old daughter. It was good value for money. She thought it looked great and particularly love the velvety soft inside and well designed posh looking pieces.
