A sturdy bench suitable for taller people.
As my old bench finally broke after 25 years I started searching for a new one and noticed that this got good reviews and most importantly for me was repeatedly recommended as good for taller people. I'm a little over 6 foot 3 and find this bench fine.It should be noted that it has no tools for the assembly so you'll need a size 19 & 21 wrench and a 6mm allen key or similar tool so that contributed to the four stars rather than five.It assembles easily although to speed things up two people would make some of the sections go together a little quicker. The picture shown doesn't exactly match the unit shipped which has a rather loose pin instead of a bolt which I intend to replace as it keeps working loose. There went the rest of a star. The bench itself however is strong, comfortable and is good for sit-ups and weight training with dumbbells.

Nice features and good value for money
Good value bench with the abs-board feature a useful plus. Oddly, the front leg has one screw fixing and one lockring. I'm not sure what the purpose of the lockring is, and I would have preferred this second fixing to be a proper screw fixing. Also, there's a bit of a gap when the bench is flat, between the seat and the backrest. I will find some cushioning material to plug that gap as it can feel a bit uncomfortable during chest presses. However, overall it's a good purchase and seems to be quite sturdy so, hopefully, will last a long time. The seat and backrest cushioning is comfortable. The BodyMax logo on the backrest is stitched using proper thread, which is a nice, quality touch. I've only used the bench a few times so far but it has done everything that I needed from a weight-training bench.

RETURNED FOR REFUND - POOR QUALITY CONTROL
Unfortunately I've just had to return this bench for a refund. Having attempted to assemble it I discovered a number of the parts were badly formed and would not fit together.Firstly the bolt that allows the backrest to pivot up and down would not screw onto the accompanying nut. Despite having two wrenches (one for the nut, one for the bolt) the bold did not move more than a centimetre or so down the bold shaft. This meant that the backrest was very unstable.Second the rubber handles that run through the uppermost bar were badly moulded, misshapen and the ends were stuck together. I managed to gently prise the ends apart and attempted to slide the handle down the bar only to discover that, because they are made of rubber, they only go on part way before sticking fast against the metal. I spent two hours trying to move the handle over the end of the bar with no success. At this point I gave up and contacted Amazon about a refund. The bench is very heavy, as you would expect, so I spent £30 to return it via Parcelforce. Amazon agreed to refund me the price of the bench and £4 of that return delivery cost, so overall I lost money. This bench has a very high percentage of five star reviews so its entirely possible I was just unlucky with a mass-produced product. Its also possible that quality control standards at the manufacturer, if they exist, have slipped recently. I decided not to take the chance and will look elsewhere.

This is an excellent bench. I love that I can do so ...
This is an excellent bench. I love that I can do so many different exercises on one piece of equipment and it's in the convenience of my own home. It was fairly straight forward to put together and didn't take me long - I'd say 30 minutes or so. You will need two adjustable spanners which aren't included. My only issue with it is that it's not as heavy as the ones you get in the gym, so you do have to be a bit careful as it can lift off the ground on one end.

very happy with this bench
very happy with this bench, it is strong and secure. I use it only with dumbells at the moment and it works fine. Only slight issue is with the decline position, for me personally I find it is very steep and I cant really use it as it puts to much pressure on my lower back. It is also super easy to switch between positions and feels very secure in the positions. For the price I think its a good deal ...but if you are really into working out in a decline position perhaps something else is better.

Almost 5 stars....
This would have received 5 stars except for one thing - it comes with all the nuts and bolts nicely packed and easy to understand instructions BUT the tool to tighten the bolts together is not part of the pack. I would have expected this product to be delivered with everything you need to put it together, especially since the actual tool required is not a standard screwdriver. I had to improvise with what I had and finally managed to put it together.Otherwise, as a product it is very good and sturdy !

I feel very comfortable and secure exercising
This is a well made, solid bench. I feel very comfortable and secure exercising. The bar for doing ab work is useful, but gets in the way when trying to use the bench for other exercises like bench press. I've actually gone and bought some shorter metal tubing to replace it so I don't have to sit/lie down with my legs impossibly wide apart. With the exception of the issue mentioned above, it's a good bench and good value for money.

Good bench. Nightmare to build !
Well built, but will take you well, well over one hour to assemble, and you’ll need your own tools! Make sure you use some lubricant on the rubber ends to the main grip bar. You will not get them fully on otherwise and they are a total nightmare to get off! Instructions could have been a little more helpful too!
