WMF Glass Insert Coffee Press Zeno

I’ve had the WMF coffee pot for a number of years. The replacement glass jug felt much thinner and more fragile. Unfortunately I wasn’t very surprised when this broke (during normal use, not an accident) within a week. As other reviewers have noted, this seems to be a case of the manufacturer trying to cut costs, resulting in a replacement part that is of very poor quality. Although I love the coffee pot, I’m not going to waste any more money on another replacement from WMF.

Product as described, it was needed to replace a broken one. It arrived two days after it was ordered.

As soon as this replacement arrived, I noticed how thin it was in comparison to its predecessor. It felt like it could easily break in your hands. Sure enough 6 to 7 weeks of use and the inset developed a hairline crack from top to bottom down the side causing hot coffee to spread out across the breakfast table. Someone in WMF Operations/Finance perhaps decided to improve EBITDA by ratcheting down the quality of this product with all the above result. Too bad. Previously the product was robust. I am now looking for the former old stock.
