A bit expensive but unclogged my printer! And that's important.
My Epson printer is so unpredictable in operation. One minute it works fine with any ink, originals or compatibles alike. The next minute, it doesn't even work with originals! Well, at least without having routine maintenance chores and performing some sort of ink/money-wasting acrobatics esp when replacing compatibles with originals.'Good' compatible inks are 'value for money' for a while. But comes the point when one or more of the ink nozzles are blocked and the printer refuses to accept any more compatibles and stops printing. That's, the ink compatibles come back with vengeance to claim any 'value' savings. It's like the Cravendale milk advert. It is so good, but "The Cows Want It Back"!Every printer has its own characteristics. Mine is so fussy about 'magenta' compatibles. So, I have to use an original after every couple of magenta compatibles - otherwise the printer won't work at all and will report an error message on all colours. So there you have it. Use compatibles but be prepared to buy the originals when the cows come back to claim all that cash saved! The only alternative is to become a cash cow yourself by throwing away your 'working' printer and buying a brand new one.But how do you know when to stop using compatibles and buy originals to get your printer working again? here you ask.Well, you receive an error message eg "Magenta ink cartridge error --> Cartridge replacement is necessary..." etc. You replace magenta but the error doesn't go away or even worse you receive "Black ink cartridge error --> Cartridge replacement is necessary..." etc. You replace black too but the error/errors still doesn't/don't go away or you receive more errors "Cartridge replacement is necessary. Magenta, Black, Cyan, Yellow ink cartridge error" and so on.Then, you carry out all sorts of other diagnosis and known troubleshooting including taking all inks out/in, switching your printer on/off... removing all ink cartridges/turning the printer off/unplugging it/switching it back on/inserting all cartridges... and restarting all over again. Yet, nothing still works! In short, highly recommended, particularly, if you are getting "Cartridge replacement is necessary" error and nothing else has worked thus far.

Epson quality
Even if the Epson cartridges are much more expensive than reconditionned cartridges, you can easily see the difference: The quality is better, you don't get any clogging therefore you don't spend your time cleaning your printer heads and waiste your ink. Plus, they last much longer, so why waste your money with the fake stuff?I have to say I was a bit miffed when I received the cartridges without their original packaging: It looked like someone was trying to pool a dodgy one, but then I red the letter and discover it was done so that it would cost less on postage and therefore it was greener (does it really make a difference on such a small amount?).Anyway, for as long as I am guaranted that these are the original ones I am happy with it. The green thing I think is just a way to save money in the same way that banks and other Companies tell you to switch to internet billing as it saves trees... No, it doesn't because when you receive you bill through the net you are the one printing it, so you have spent the money for the paper & the ink, not the bank or billing Company, plus they have saved on postage, so it is all profit for them... And all spending for you!!! Green is such a good excuse for so many hipocritical reasons. This being said, I do not doubt the good intensions of this Company which is why I have given it a 5 star.

You can't beat buying Genuine ink cartridges!
So, yes, it is pretty annoying when you are half way through printing a document and one colour runs out... the printer won't print until it is replaced (thanks Epson!)... it can be tempting to nip out to a "cheap" computer shop or a place like "Cartridge World" where you can get a "compatable" cartridge for pennies. My advice... don't do it!I ruined my last printer by getting these so-called "compatable" cartridges. So often the ink would be too runny or would leave clumps on my page. I dont know how many I replaced after them clogging at the sight of a few print jobs. With my old printer I reverted back to genuine cartrides but the damage had already been done - the printer heads were full of gunk and the advice I was given was to send the poor machine to the recycling centre.Certainly a lesson learned... ALWAYS buy genuine! Yes, if you buy them from the manufacturer's website they can be expensive but just look at Amazon - I have never paid the full price for a set: sometimes I have had them for less than half the price!Marketplace sellers - in addition, I know lots of people who aren't sure about buying from an Amazon Marketplace seller but believe me, with Epson packaging nothing can be dodgy! They are super-sealed to the degree that only a pair of scissors can sort out and they all have an Epson holigram on the outside too.
