Aico EI166e 160e Series 240v Mains Optical Smoke Alarm With Rechargeable Lithium Battery, Easi Fit Base

Bought to replace EI 1567TL. Significantly cheaper then the so called replacement with a 'special' base!Easily covers previous fitting holes. May need a little paint if you've painted the ceiling after fitting the original.Simple to rewire to new base. blue to blue, brown to brown, white to white. Battery connection not needed.This is technical a replacement so why they say you have to use an electrician I have no idea... Not like I'm fitting a new circuit... Just like with like replacement in accordance with the regs.(I'm a competent person as I use to design electronic equipment and circuits for aircraft, if you are not happy dealing with electrics do use/consult an electrician)

Replaced mains wired Aico ei164e smoke alarms fitted 10.5 years ago which still worked. The new heat alarms Aico ei166e came supplied with base plates. However the old base plates didn’t require removing as new alarms slid into the old base plates perfectly. Relief! Tested them and all rang loudly. Excellent product as do not need to worry about battery changing. The units come with lithium ion rechargeable battery guaranteed to last 10 years.

Bought two of these as replacements, after one of my originals went off unexpectedly whilst we were on holiday in Lanzarote! 🙈. It was 15 years old 🤷‍♂️Fitted perfectly into the existing wiring, all is good again!Will make sure and replace them more often 😂

Easy swap out of my former and now time expired smoke alarm. Genuinely took less than 30 seconds.

Very convenient, due to high access the 10 years battery life means I do not have to climb up every 2 years to replace the battery also the mains power and wiring triggers all alarms on the circuit if one detects smoke.

These were recommended to me by our electrician because of their reliability and ease of installation. He seemed very happy when fitting them and they look the part. They worked on the test so should warn us if there was a real emergency.
