Hands down, the best clippers I have ever owned!
I have been cutting my own hair and my friends and kids for over 25 Years, had several other brands of clippers, Andis, Whal etc all fine. But honestly, the Oster is by far the best set I have owned. Fast and strong cutting power for easy precision cutting. Fading is much easier but you do need a good set of either the metal blades or the plastic guards with the inside metal spring attachment. You can change the blades for fades and blends, but these individual metal blades or metal guards are crazy expensive. Or you can do like me, and just get the cheaper plastic guards that have the metal spring clips inside. Don't get the plastic ones with no metal spring they fall off all the time and will be a waste of your money.Things to keep in mind, they are heavy and they do heat up, the plastic heavy-duty handle gets a bit hot after prolonged use. But It doesn't bother me and I got used to these things quickly. Also, they don't have any adjustable clipper guard switch, so you cant open or close the guard/blade, so for fading, and blends you have to just use different sized guards/blade heads. Again this is fine if you're familiar with hair cutting or have time to practice. Pros don't need the leaver :)I rate these 10/10 hands down the best pro clippers on the market.

This clipper was originally designed in the 1960's, But still most powerful clipper available.
I have used the clippers ever since 1996. I like them because with the selection of both blades and attachment combs you can give yourself a very precise haircut. However sometimes they do get hot. This is because the are fitted with a mains 240 volt AC motor. Note though , at the moment they are not available to purchase. This is probable because Oster have recently introduced a cordless / rechargeable version of this clipper. It will have a low voltage DC motor in the housing, together with a re-chargeable battery. The charging stand which comes with it, is also the 240 or 110 volt AC transformer to a low voltage DC, current.More than likely this will not get any thing like so hot. In North America, the original clippers were called 76s because the ran on their 110 voltage supply, whereas the European and other versions were 240 volt machines and were therefore called 97s. This new cordless version however, is simply being called the rechargeable 76 worldwide.

Disapointed.Traces of hair on trimmer and also on the spare blade I ordered.Didn't even bother to return because of very bad return policy from outside of UK.Thinking of getting a dog and you know...

Be warned, may receive second hand item
***UPDATE***Returned clippers to Amazon and accepted a replacement so long as they could guarantee I would receive a brand new item in its place. Package arrived today and again, the clippers are second hand. Don't get me wrong, they're in fairly decent condition and the clippers themselves are well made but they have again been used previously and there is hair and dust in all the crevices and blades. If I was looking for a second hand pair I'd consider keeping them but not when paying the full £178 for them. The pair that I received were used. Fine hair and dust/skin in all the crevices and the plastic under the head had an aged/yellow appearance. Box appears to be old, instruction manual printed in '98 and the warranty card in' 93! Can't find anywhere in the description (or price) to suggest these are sold as used but have seen other Oster models being reviewed on Amazon with the same problem.

Faulty ouster 97 trimmer
When using this item it became extremely hot after about 2 minutes and could cause a burn to a person's face. Also it became too hot for me to hold whilst using it. I believe it is unsafe and maybe dangerous. There was no diagram of the unit explaining various parts. I am surprised Amazon promote this item. Of course if I return it I will be out the carriage. I will be reporting it to Health and Safety Department
