Aerotex 500ml Compact and Portable Dehumidifier for Damp, Condensation, Mould and Moisture in Home, Kitchen, Bedroom, Bathroom, Caravan, Basement, Garage

I bought this like most people to cut down on the amount of condensation we get on our Bedroom Windows which is quite bad. We've used the disposable ones for sometime and thought that this might not only be more effective but also more economical in the long run.I've used the product now for a couple of weeks, to enable me to share what I hope is an honest and balanced review.It's well made and it does do the job reasonably well, it's as good as the disposable one, which can be seen by the amount of water it collects within the reservoir. I would like to say it's better than the disposable ones but here lies my issue with it, the fact that placement of labels like "Whisper Technology" and Silent in the product title are misleading, because Silent or Quiet this is not, at least the one we received is not and as this is being used in a Bedroom I can't leave it on 24/7 because of the noise from the fan. So if I was able to run it none stop it may well be better than the disposable type.Don't get me wrong, this is not extremely noisy, just a tad too loud to sleep comfortably with it running, to give you an idea of the level, it is noisier than my Desktop PC at idle which has several fans running in it at anyone time.#####UPDATE######I've upped my review to 5 stars after Home Stack contacted me to resolve the noise issue. They have gone the extra mile to ensure satisfaction giving me a number of options to solve the issue and after choosing to receive a replacement I've found the replacement unit to be noticeably quieter than the first one, in fact I am now going to order another one for the other bedroom.

Product was ordered on a Sunday and delivered Monday.Setup was easy and in 4-5 days within bedroom is 3/4 full. Noise is similar to a fridge, not very loud but just in the background.Only thing I'm not sure on is energy consumption which intend to check out.

The Aerotex arrived promptly. It works quite well, but I think our Laundry/Utility room is too much for it. The space probably needs a larger machine. I would definitely recommend this for a smaller, perhaps less damp area.

This product worked well in my home office (garden oubuilding) - I had to empty the container every 4/5 days. No problem. Then after less than 6 months use, it has completely stopped working, no power up, nothing. Not sure it has any warranty to return. Not impressed.Amazon - any comments on this?

The Pros: Doesn't take up much space and is quiet.The cons: As previous comments noted, this is a very small machine and not very effective. While it definitely does work to a certain extent (after 24 hours I had a small puddle of water building at the bottom of the water tray), I severely doubt that it could fill 250ml of water in 24 hours unless you placed it in a tropical rain forest. Perhaps my biggest grip is that the air intake is incredibly poor - seriously barely any air is processed by the machine at all and the green light is unnecessarily bright, lighting up your bedroom at night. It also takes a good few hours before it starts dehumidifying any air at all. Just as a disclaimer, I have used other (albeit bigger) dehumidifiers before so already did have a certain expectation at the efficiency of a dehumidifying device.I guess you get what you pay for, but ultimately, this machine is only good for dehumidifying cupboards or other very small spaces.

I have this in a small bedroom which has a minor damp issue and after almost a week it has taken a significant amount of water out of the air. This small unit fits in the bedroom well and although it isn't really whisper quiet it doesn't seem to prevent sleeping. It is no noisier than an almost identical unit I have bought from another make. It's build quality is good and overall I consider this to be a good buy.Just over a year on from the initial review and the unit broke down. Even though the unit was older than one year the company were more than happy to offer me a reasonable reduction off the cost of a replacement. This arrived 3 days after my initial contact with the company. Excellent customer service.

A great product that does exactly what is promised. We use it in a study that suffers from condensation overnight (due to old sash windows - no double glazing) but this unit clears the issue over night and we're very happy with it. Pleased that it is quiet too when other units are somewhat noisy in operation. Recommended and great value - And the seller gave super service and great communications too. A+++

Was a bit sceptical that something this small would work on our damp walk in wardrobe. How wrong I was. Within 2 hours there was half a cm of water in the tray. 2 days on there is 3cm of water in the tray. The clothes already feel so much drier and the musty smell is gone. The machine is so quiet just a gentle hum in the background. I can't believe what a difference this little machine has made already. If you have any damp give this a try.
