Hush Puppies Vivianna Women's Boots

Originally purchased these to go with a steampunk costume - After spending much time searching for an ideal Victorian laceup style boot with a lowish (but not flat) comfortable heel, and with suitable steampunk look, I was getting frustrated with just finding either cheap imported synthetic material boots, extortionate prices for specialist made footwear, too bulky, too low or too high a heel, and hardly ever in my small size 3...then a friend pointed me in the direction of this Hush Puppies Vivianna boot....and it was love at first sight! The shape and design fitted all my 'wants' and to find they were leather and for a price well below what I was expecting to have to pay....they fitted the bill perfectly. I read up on other customer comments, satisfied by how comfortable they found them to wear...but have to admit the suggestions that the ankle is perhaps a little wide (I have narrow feet and skinny ankles) worried me a bit. However, saying that, I also intended wearing them with spats that would cover that area so seemed not too much of an issue....being leather, and comfortable (the important bit to me), and fulfilling all my design criteria overrode any concerns and I knew I just had to buy them. When I received them I have to say I was delighted! The tan colour was an almost exact match to the leather straps etc on my costume and they are perhaps slightly more 'antiqued' than the photo shows...which again is perfect for the steampunk look. They fit well, really are uber comfortable and make my little feet look super cute and dainty. Yes, they do gape at the ankle and some people will find this an issue...but in my case, it wasn't a problem. The elastic laces are annoying ( I also think they cheapen the look of the boot) so I've replaced them with proper brown material ones which actually make the boot feel more secure across the front of the foot....and I have managed to pull them a little tighter. The leather 'tongue' is stitched in place but I have managed to crease and soften the leather enough so that there is more 'give' to enable the laces to tighten a bit more...good for me with narrow feet but I guess majority of people wont need to do this....and since there are the additional zips at the sides, once the laces are done up, they can be left untouched. Worn with spats and additional clip on steampunk cogs and embellishments to the fronts they completed my costume wonderfully and drew many admiring glances, comments and queries as to where I got them. The story however doesn't end with them being just an one off costume item - they are so comfortable I am now wearing them most days (minus the costume embellishments)! I'm not one for wearing heels (I have back and hip pain problems) but these are a perfect height for me when I want to dress up a bit more and I've managed to stay on my feet wearing these without issues for far longer than I do in my other footwear....this is probably down to the claimed shock absorbing heel pad, flexible insole cushioning and ultra-flexible tread design with flexible rubber outsole featuring incline technology. The sole is nice and grippy and I feel safe walking in them. Teamed with jeans and trousers they look fantastic and have even got the approval off my fashionista friends who know their footwear! I mean, remember, these are made for everyday use...they are not 'costume' boots...that just happened to be what I'd originally purchased them for...these are damn good leather boots intended for more use, made by a quality trusted company and they won me over and enchanted me and have become a favourite of my footwear collection and really earning their keep. They are certainly worth the money and with proper looking after will last me a long time.

After having my eye on these boots for quite some time, I finally went ahead and purchased them a couple of days ago, as they were great value compared to other sites I had seen them on! I bought them in tan and they arrived earlier today via one-day delivery- and they don't disappoint! They are very well-made, with lovely soft leather; and I love the colour too- they are a lovely burnished leather with such a good shine to them. To look at, they are gorgeous. I have quite wide UK size 7 feet, but my shoe size can vary between a size 6 and an 8, depending on the shoe. I worried a bit that the boots weren't going to fit around my wide toes and high instep, especially after other reviews from customers whose boots didn't quite fit despite their feet usually fitting a certain size. Luckily for me, they do, and they are incredibly comfortable to walk in; yes, the heel is a little bigger than I expected, but don't be put off by it, as the padding inside and the overall design of the shoes make the heel size pretty insignificant. I also think the leather will stretch slightly as I break them in and make them even more comfortable. I quite happily wandered around my house in them for a little while after trying them on! Therefore, I would recommend these boots to anyone wanting a well-made, very comfortable pair of smart-looking ankle boots. I think they will suit anyone, regardless of height, shape or age- I'm 21 but having read lots of other reviews, ladies of varying ages have purchased and loved these shoes! I shall invest in a good leather protector to keep them nice over the coming winter months, and am seriously considering requesting another pair in another colour (probably green!) for Christmas!

These are gorgeous boots, I love them. So quirky and very comfortable. The problem was with the size. I normally take a 5 in sandals and a 6 in boots to allow for socks. I ordered a 6 from elsewhere and couldn't even get the zip to meet up. This was with thin foot socks. I ordered this pair in a 7 and they fit perfectly. I've just read, on another review, about two people having trouble with the laces coming undone on these. I to just use the zips, so, if you are the same and don't want to bother too much with the laces, do them up to the most comfortable place for you & tie a neat bow. You can then get a needle and thread and put a few stitches through the knot to stop it coming undone. Obviously this won't work if you prefer to use the laces, but this is something I do with moccasin slippers as well. Far safer than the danger of falling downstairs if you tread on a loose lace, especially for the elderly. You don't need to be a 'seamstress' just thread cotton into the eye of the needle, tie the end and push the needle in and out of the knot in the laces. Knot the end of the cotton and you're done.

I have been looking for some comfortable low heeled boot type shoes for some time. These attracted me because they have a bit more style than usual. Having size 8 shoes, requiring a wide fitting, means that plain styles can look a bit too masculine, and I wanted to get something a bit different to wear out with friends, not just out shopping. Previous reviews stated they were comfortable, this attracted me and is absolutely true for me too. These are easy to put on and off without pressure across the toe joints. I would have given 5 stars, but was just a little disappointed about the height of the heel, which is a little higher than it appeared to me in the picture. If you normally wear high heels I am sure this would not be a problem. I have been wearing lower heels for about 3 years, but, as I have persevered wearing these over the last 2 weeks I am now comfortable walking over a mile in them. They appear to be well made and I suspect will wear well for a long time.

Just an update- I've had to send these boots back twice and finally (and very reluctantly) ask for a refund because after a few weeks the sole has started coming away at the front and letting the rain in! Very disappointed as I really enjoyed wearing these boots. _______________________________________________________________________________ I bought these after reading the excellent reviews. I was looking for a pair of boots that would be comfortable enough for me to do the school run in then go straight to work in. These boots have certainly proved their worth! I was worried that being Hush Puppies they wouldn't be very trendy (I am 26!) but actually they look great and lots of my friends have been asking about them! Wore them on a night out with a long lace skirt and it gave me a lovely "vintage look". I've also worn them with mini skirts and leggings, and skirt suits though wouldn't really wear them under trousers unless the trousers were quite long. You won't be disappointed! Only issue: they are quite wide (even for me and I don't have unusually have narrow feet). I pulled the laces quite tight and this has solved the issue completely.

I wore them for the first time yesterday to go to see Marti Pellow at the Leeds Arena and they are the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. Love them. Now ordered a pair in Tan colour. 😍 xxx

These boots looked great and are super comfortable. I was shocked after wearing once the heels had scuffed and I'd only worn them one day! The leather wasn't very strong and I'll have to think of a way to disguise the scuffs. Wouldn't expect this from HP as past purchases have been of a higher quality.

Love these boots! But they do need to be waterproofed so as not to ruin the leather.
