Very good and too sensitive. If the cable that is been traced is touching other cables , you have to separate them to be sure. This product is Better than some expensive products.

Volume knob was a bit counterintuitive but works. Tested network terminations and toned cable. Works good so far. I like that it comes with an alligator clip wire set. Will be making a bnc wire set for analog camera lines

Easy to use for a good price.

As a business owner who is responsible for my own IT infrastructure, I've had the displeasure of installing and troubleshooting my sore excuse of an ethernet network. Over the years, as new equipment came online, I had to add more and more cables from cat5 to 6, 7, and now cat8. As old devices got retired and new equipment place online, my network became less reliable and throughput suffers. Problems from rats chewing the cables to interferences from fluorescent lighting wreak havoc on my limited diagnosing skills. Another problem is in identifying which cable connect which device. Labels simply fade or fall off over time. Having this cable tester may not fix the problem but at least it saves a lot of time helping me pinpoint the source of the issue. I can put the transmitter on one end of the cable in question and use the receiver on the other end to find which of the 30 cable ends is the culprit. I can also test that the cable is terminated correctly before wasting time running it across the ceiling to its destination. It's a nice touch to include a set of earbuds so you can get audio as well as visual signal feedback. The only thing I wish for is a carrying case so that I don't lose the lead wires & clips.

It works, easy to use.

My home network philosophy is to wire everything I can. So aside from mobile or smart devices, everything is plugged in (tv, receivers, blu-ray, desktops, printers, etc). Every now and then I make a bad wire or stumble on a bad one. I usually just re-terminate it, but this can check it first. (yes I was lazy by not having one of these already). I had one wire I pulled out that I thought was bad and ran it thru the network test mode. Sure enough, strand 4 was not communicating. Not sure which end was bad, but at least I know for sure the wire is bad (it was sporadically working). So off come the plugs as even under a loupe I couldn't see the issue. The only other mode I checked (or would really use frequently) is the finder mode. It injects a signal and the probe makes a noise in the earbuds when you get close. Perfect for those dense bundles. The video in the description gives a really good primer for its use. Easier than the manual. It is pretty lightweight, but does the job without fuss and the price is reasonable. This is going right into my network toolbox!!

All the basic functionality are available with this tester. You can test the continuity of the cable and you can search for a cable in a pile of cables with the probe. The probe volume is loud enough. I tested a run that was 100m long and was able to find the cable in the cabinet. Pros: - Continuity tester - Cable scanner Cons: - No POE testing options Overall this is a good simple tester. This tester will do it perfectly if you are just crimping cables or searching for a cable.

As stated, pretty cheap subpar quality device, both physically & practically. The tone scan function is almost useless as it picks just about any and all electrical noise in the vicinity. Good luck isolating a cable in a patch panel with a bunch of live lines…

Vraiment utile pour une installation réseau. La notice est des plus spartiate, mais on trouve bcp de tutos.

Funktioniert einwandfrei. Habe Kabel und das gepatchten LAN überprüft und den Fehler schnell gefunden.
