JnDee 10M 100 LED Colour Changing Disco Twinkling Christmas Fairy Lights with Berry Covers for Christmas LED fades between colours: Red, Yellow, Orange, Blue, Turquoise, Pink, Green [Energy Class A+]

I first saw sets of bulbs doing what these do on the Front in Blackpool some ten years ago. Each of those bulbs was the size of a standard 100watt mains powered bulb and each bulb cost more that two full sets of these lights. So when I saw these advertised I decideded to get some for one of my indoor Christmas trees.Appearance:The fact that these arrived in plain white boxes had me a little concerned, but the light sets inside were nicely and neatly bundled. The connector to the plug on one of the three sets I bought was a little loose, but that was easily tightened up.When not plugged in, the set appear as a set of small snowballs (or large mistletoe berries) connected by dark green wires .The instructions (on a single A5 sheet) are written in excellent English and do the usual job of overstating precautions. The instruction sheet also shows all the required quality and safety marks.Function:Now as to how they work. The answer is "very well indeed". When you plug them in every single LED is red, but they very, and I do mean very, quickly drift out of step, I've seen three different colours within 15 seconds, and you can often have 10 different shades of all the primary colours on the one strand. The plug will warm up a little but the temperature is well within safety limits barely qualifying as "warm to the touch", even after several hours of use.As these are truly random you can get periods if you have them on for a long time, where you will get several passing through the same section of their colour wheel within a second or two. Within a couple of minutes they will be completely out of step again.Notes:Although the "bulbs" (actually just hollow spheres which are placed over the LEDs) are only 12mm (1/2 inch in old money) in diameter, they are quite bright.Because of the way colour changing LEDs work, the bulbs are more pastel coloured than the old incandescent ones, but they are beautiful.At one point in the colour cycle each bulb will look a bit dark if it's close by another which is at full brightness, but most of that is down to the human eye having different sensitivity to different colours and not a fault in the LEDs. you watch the dark bulb for ten seconds you will see it brighten up.One oddity, about 5 seconds after you unplug a set it will give a short red flash. This is perfectly normal and is due to a capacitor inside the plug discharging.Final thoughts:These lights are excellent value. I bought three sets to try out and will probably buy a couple more.

I bought these lights due to some others breaking. I wanted something a little bigger than so many microlights but didn't want those annoying colour change pattern options and cannot stand the flashing that you get with so many of them. These lights are multi coloured and the change colour continuously in a smooth transition that you hardly notice and are very effective. This is my 3rd purchase of these lights as I am so pleased with them. Also being larger lights they are more noticeably particularly on the tree.

Used for splitting logs

I’m really impressed with these lights. As others have said at switch on they come on red and circle through the colours but soon go out of sync so each lamp is doing a different colour. Button on transform allows on for evening off during day.Transition between colours is a bout 2seconds.

I love these lights although no options to set, the slow change from one colour to the next is really effective and the overall look is wonderful. Have currently got up inside but would look great on tree.

I’ve given two stars for good size and nice colours HOWEVER the description was not clear that unlike most standard Christmas lights, you cannot change the function and it is a very fast colour change so you cannot really appreciate it Just look like normal style lights flashing away . My son bought similar last year but can’t remember the make and you can have them with each individual light slowly changing colour, thought these were same but not. Will have to return as the speed of flashing will be extremely annoying

Love the colour changing and really add something to the room. When first turned on they stay the same colour but soon start changing, all bulbs are different colours at different times. Love them.

The LEDs flash very fast instead of the slow fading that is described (see animated GIF).Also a lot of LED bulb covers very detached when the package arrived.I'm very disappointed with these string lights and I sent them back.
