Haynes 5558 Repair and Service Workshop Manual

I haven't bought a Haynes Manual for years and had heard that they were not as good as they used to be, this is certainly not the case with this manual.I have a Fiat 500 and have found my local Fiat garages are not as careful with car as I would like so I will be doing more routine maintenance than I have done since I could first afford to pay someone else to service my car. To be honest, when you see what a routine service involves most of it is just checks, with an oil change thrown in, things like cleaning and servicing brakes isn't covered, making this manual is essential if you want your car to last.The manual doesn't actually cover the 1.4 that I have or the Twin Air and Abarth models, but most of the car is similar so I should be able to work out what to do and what goes where. There is a lot of useful information and it makes interesting reading too.

I'm glad to see that they've produced an updated manual for the newer Pandas although i can see that to save costs they've combined it with the 500 and that can make it a little harder to find what you're looking for. I'm no mechanic so I tend to keep the Haynes manuals for reference only. We did have a problem last year with the brake light switch and we managed to figure out what had gone wrong before this manual was produced. It took quite a long time to sort it out, so at least with the manual now available we've got something to refer to in case of future problems.

What can anyone say about Hayne's manuals that hasn't been said before You either love them or loathe them...Personally, I love them... A bit disappointed to find that they now come as a softback, not the tough old hardback that we grew up with, but still full of useful information.

Had the engine of my 2015 fiat 500 1.2 in it so good for services, fault finding and fluid measures. Soft back not hard. Delivery quickly.

Haynes? Oh dear oh dear. Virtually a waste of time. If you are reasonably mechanically minded you'll know that what you can actually hope to mend on a modern car is very limited and mostly available in better detail on YouTube. Or you could buy a Ford Capri from the 80's and the manual to go with it and you'd be back in the good old days of changing the oil and spark plugs yourself otherwise good luck with these grainy poor quality photos in this manual!!!

Purchased this for my granddaughter who has become mechanically minded.While the contents covers her Panda she is satisfied with the manual, myself I am not so sure.The last Haynes manual that I possessed was over twenty years ago and in those days it was a hardback with a very good quality paper. Layout photos and diagrams were sharp and easy to define, but I feel that this has been let down by today's versions by the use of very poor quality white paper.But the recipient was please so that's all that counts.

Albeit not a Fiat 500/Panda owner, this book is the closest I could get to a Lancia Ypsilon diesel. It's useful and shows many aspects of the DPF filter that interest me. Although clearly states in the back that the abarth version is not examined,I would prefer if Haynes could include a small subsection on the Tjet 1.4 turbo motor as well.

Eines der wenigen Bücher die sich sehr ausführlich mit Reparatur und Wartung befassen und dabei nicht nur an der "Oberfläche" kratzen. Es ist gut bebildert und verfügt über die gesamten Stromlaufpläne von Panda/500.Schade finde ich, daß es keine deutsche Aufführung davon gibt. Bzw. hab ich noch keine gefunden.Sofern man der englischen Sprache etwas mächtig ist und technisches Verständnis/Wissen hat, kommt man mit diesem Buch sehr gut zurecht.

Revue haynes comme toujours très complète pour le bricoleur. Un minimum d'anglais est requis et un bon dictionnaire technique. Dommage que les versions française de ces revues n'excitent plus;
