BEST FILTER I'VE EVER HAD!
UPDATE: This was the best filter till the little fan for the water flow just quit working. It works up until the time you take the cleaner out to clean it, and then it's a hard time getting the fan to work again. gonna try buying another one cause I really like this filter, so hope to god the new one works OK. This is the best filter! although it takes time for the water to clear completely, (about a month altogether), it completely clears all the algae in the tank and makes the water crystal clear. For a few months I was dealing with horrible green water where I could hardly see the fish and didn't know where they were half the time, and this filter did the job and now I can see everything completely! Best filter I've ever had! (It was a game changer to say the least)

Great for small tanks
For cleaning small tanks this works great. If you have suspended algae, this will clear it up post haste.

So impressed after just 36 hours!
We’ve only had this UV filter running for about a day and a half, and the comparison photos speak for themselves—our super cloudy 10-gallon tank is already noticeably clearer. The sound is a huge upgrade from our previous filter, which constantly sounded like running water. This one is so much quieter and has a soft fizzing sound, almost like a freshly poured soda. Much more pleasant, especially with the tank in a living space. I also love how easy it is to adjust the pressure and bubble output. We have tetras, and our old filter was way too strong—they’d get caught in the current unless we blocked the flow with plants. This one gives us full control and keeps the fish comfortable. Overall, it’s been a great switch so far. I’ll come back to update after the first cleaning and once we see how long the bulb lasts, but for now—highly recommend!

BUT IT NOW!
Update 4 days later: I put this in on 5/16/25. 20 hrs later, there was a visible change but day 3 we were in shock. Today is day 4 and I'm flabbergasted. I can actually see my son's wall again. 🤣 Original Post: you're like me and no nothing about fish tanks and filters BUT IT NOW; LOL but I'm serious. We have gone through 2 filter pumps and various types of filters trying to keep this tank clean! It's been 20 hours since I installed this system into my son's tank; he has 5 bettas (all females so no drama). We cleaned this tank 6 days ago and the day after the water was merky and white again. So m, I installed this, the process is seamless and made for tank dummies like myself, and send to be working a miracle in less than 24 hes. The 1st photo is prior to installing and the second photo is just now. I'm absolutely impressed by the work it's done already. It's quiter than our last two systems and the fish keep riding on the jet (it's hilarious to watch). If you're on the fence, get off and buy it. I'll update after 7 days.

Works well but ...
Love that it clears the water fast! Especially when we had live plants. But ... I can't seem to get the filter cover off! I've squeezed and pulled from both sides and it just won't budge. Does the unit have to be completely dry to get the cover to move? If I could easily remove the cover, I would give full stars. Oh and don't use with live plants either. They tend to gunk it up so it needs cleaning DAILY. Now that we've removed the live plants, it goes longer, tho I've not noted how long. Make it come apart easier but still stay together under water (a clip, maybe?) and I'd totally love it. I know.my turtle appreciates clear water in her tank.

Super Clear Water
I was skeptical of this. I have a variety of small fish in a 20 gal tank. Plus snails who make a mess. This pump works amazing. I’ve been running it as a pump only with out the attached hose thing on top. I reached out to their customer support to verify it would work like this bc I didn’t like the amount of micro bubbles and noise it made with the hose on as an air pump. They got back in less than 24hours confirming you can use it without the air pump attachment. You can visually see the UV light on. It lights green. I kept the sponge inside bc I didn’t have green algae. My tank was just cloudy and dirty from the snails. I did clean the glass first and stirred the gravel a bit to get things moving. 2 days later. Crystal clear. I do have a hang on the back filter from petsmart that gets nasty pretty quick. This is a great addition for any tank.

Excellent product! It did an amazing job of clearing up my aquarium algae bloom 🤗
My tank was plagued by a green algae bloom that would not go away no matter what I tried. I read other reviews on this UV filter in particular, and there were many happy customers, so I put in my order. The package arrived fast and everything arrived in tact. It was super easy to assemble and get running. I removed the yellow sponge filter so to run the UV light. Love the timer function! I started on a 12 hour timer. I started to notice a difference in the water clarity the next day. On day 5, I switched the timer to 3 hours. The tank was crystal clear by day 7. So happy!!!

Good UV filter.
The size is a bit cumbersome for a small aquarium. It works great. The filter works continuously, and the UV lamp is controllecby a timer (off, 3, 6, 12 or 24 hours), a small light can be seen in the darh when the UV lamp is switched On. I remove to included sponge as I use it only for the UV lamp. My marine aquarium water is now really clear.

Degraded plastic from UV light
I saw an immediate decrease in brown algae (diatoms) after using this. My water source has silica in it so not much I can do about that. My glass would be brown and I would have to scrap it weekly. Now I don't have to scrap as often and my glass looks clean for longer. I see less green algae as well. If the algae is on the glass, you would have to run the uv while scraping the glass to get the algae to be treated. My one con is that the timer doesn't keep time very well. Overall, the UV filter works though. Edit: changed my review to one star. I took the filter out of my aquarium. The inside of the filter is degrading after less than a year and there are black particles coming out. The UV light destroyed the plastic inside. Rather than risking my fish, it's going in the garbage.

Good product well made
There are two versions of this product, I bought the smaller one (mostly because I didn't see the larger one) for 10-40 Gal tanks. The product is meant to be submersed in the tank, but the air tube was not long enough to put this on the bottom of my tank and have it reach outside the tank. Fortunately, the tube was a standard size so I made my own. This works extremely well as a bubbler creating incredible oxygenation that the fish seem to really like. You can control the amount of bubbles by a dial outside the tank that lets more or less air in. Noise is relatively low, and definitely no where near as annoying as the bubbler I had. The amount of noise it makes is related to the amount of oxygenation you choose, but even on the max it's not overly noisy. The output can be directed to where you want it. They include a foam insert, but tell you to NOT use the foam insert if your going to use the UV light, so I'm not sure the point of it. The unit draws 11W for pump and UV light with the UV light being a 5W bulb (the larger unit has a larger pump and larger bulb). I have no idea if 5W is enough or not. The bulb itself is visible from the bottom of the pump but if you have the bulb on a timer then it would be hard to know whether the bulb is burned out or if the timer is just off. The timer allows you to choose the number of hours per 24 hour, but there is no clock on the device so I guess it starts counting when you plug it in, or if you have a power hit, it all resets. If there was a weakness, it's this timer, but for the price this is an acceptable choice. Honestly, I'm not sure why I wouldn't just leave it on 24x7 for 5W. I have no idea if the UV light will make any difference in the algae levels in the tank, but it sure can't hurt. I have no clue where I would get a replacement bulb when it burns out, and I don't know how long the expected life of the bulb is, or how often I should clean it. All in all a good product.
