Great stainless steel knife, excellent quality
Great quality knife made of 440C stainless steel. For those unfamiliar with this particular metal, it has 1% carbon and 17% chromium. Chromium content of 12-13% is typically enough to make a steel stainless, so plenty here in this knife. Unless you store it wet or drop it in the ocean, pretty much rust proof. The size is much bigger than i expected but this is a positive as it makes for a very rugged, robust, and useful knife. Sheath is excellent, but as others noted the belt clip system is overly complicated and adds no value. Handle material feels dense and strong, with no sharp edges biting into your hand. Excellent grip. All three colors are eye pleasing. I’d recommend this knife to anyone who just wants a solid, well made and attractive knife to carry outdoors during hikes or camping. At $40-45 it’s an absolute bargain, considering many cheap knockoff brands sell for twice as much.

New budget fixed blade fav!
First, for the price it is fantastic. It is taller than the images convey (31mm edge to spine) So it is beefier than it looks. I have/had Esee, Becker, KBar, Cold Steel, Bradford, ect. I prefer steels like M390, CPM3V and M4 but 440C is perfectly. acceptable. For the money, this is a great knife. Feels great in hand, even better through deer skin or shooting gloves. I have ordered two more. The sheath is fine, though the clip design is a bit silly. I do my own Kydex and though not necessary, it is worthy of making a Kydex sheath for. My new budget fixed blade favorite. Only suggestion, make a classic satin blade w black scales/sheath (the gray is nice though).

SOG is back.
SOG has undergone a major rebranding and it is working. This is not the same SOG, it is a new and extremely improved SOG. The Tellus FX is no exception to this, a new design that's available in a fixed blade (this one) and a folding version. I am impressed enough with this version that I will soon be getting the folder too. The sheath is also an improved redesign, the belt clip is an easy adjust type where you can adjust for regular belt carry to scout carry and almost every angle of carry in between. The knife fits in smugly with barely any wiggle, but still easily removed when you need it. Another positive is how sharp it comes right out of the box, it is extremely shaving sharp. Feels good in the hand, very good ergonomics. All of this for less than $50, crazy value. Can't wait to get my folder.

Excellent Camp and Bushcraft Knife
Very well made and I really like the sheath design. Innovative clip arrangement. Blade is razor sharp out of the package and the stone wash finish is really nice. Flat grind should be durable as a 440C steel which has been considered a top tier stainless steel for years for all but the most snooty knife-know-it-alls out there. Scales are solid and modestly flat. The knife is not bulky. I have a couple higher-end SOG knifes with hollow grinds, but I feel this one hits a sweet spot where I have a really good knife that I wont be afraid to actually use as intended and worry about damage. Reasonable price is also a plus.

Great knife
Awesome knife. Held up well, I like the concept of the pocket clip but the actual clip feels less than ideal. Difficult to use

Clip design flaws
Hands down the worst clip design of any knife I own. I bought this to carry right side horizontal. The bolts stripped immediately and it flexes so that you have to literally bend your belt & wiggle it in there for clip-on/off or run your belt through it to put on or remove. For vertical carry, it sits very high. Forget it if your gut hangs over your belt a bit. Rt side Horizontal carry is out of the picture now that the bolts are stripped and the bolts the two bolts that still have teeth just rotate without using incredibly narrow needle-nose pliers to hold the backside. The depth of the bolts is so minimal, the margin for error is zero, so extra bolts would help or not tightening the bolts at the manufacturer would mitigate this problem. It appears that you can customize it as you’d want to carry it but you ultimately cannot…May not be like this for all consumers but this was my experience with this sheath clip. Close, but no cigar…The sheath itself is fine as the knife clips and hold nicely and the knife itself is just fine. You get what you pay for.

Lotta blade, what’s more you could ask for
The steel is very hard, not brittle hard but it holds an edge extremely well, it’s not a very “light” knife but it’s not the worst at 6.7oz, and as I was taught ounces = pounds and pounds = pain, but personally I like a heavier knife. All be it, it’s hard for me to not be biased towards any S.O.G. Knife due to them making just such good quality knives, I have owned this knife for about a year and with on and off constant use there are no hot spots on the handle.
