Procion Dye Jet Black

Great product! I was attempting to change a thick material set of overalls from orange to black however, the original colour was quite bright to put it mildly. The garment is heavy for a piece of clothing but with one pot, it darkened to a very dull purple. I am confident that another use of this product will result in a perfect, jet black colour. Consistent colouring throughout and has held the shade through several machine washes. Highly recommended as I am sure the results would have been a lot better if the garment was not such a bright orange and/or was a lot lighter in weight. Read many positive reviews on this brand and I am happy to agree with them.

Colour is EXACTLY the same as before even though the jumper was a dark purple to start with. See picture to compare to a washed black coat. Really annoying as it took forever to dye and it’s not even slightly darker now.

works every time

Followed all instructions, left in dye bath for 5 times the recommended time. Fabric was 50/50 linen and cotton, prewashed. And while the colour came out very deep and almost perfectly uniform, its like a midnight blue/navy rather than black. I thought worst case scenario itd come out a dull black or deep grey, which i was ready to accept as i know that its very difficult to get a deep black at home. But once i started rinsing the fabric i could see the dye was a blue purple (like the ink of a black pen). After finishing rinsing and drying its clearly a very very very dark blue. Going to try redyeing the project once its finished to see if i can get it closer to the true black that all the accompanying notions are, but wont be using this dye. But if you need a midnight blue i highly recommended this dye.

For some reasons it’s not dying at all, quality of a coverage is poor. Tried twice and colours washed out both times no matter for how long a kept my T-shirt soaking in a bucket.

Good depth of colour

I couldn't get this to fix. I used it for batik and it really didn't work. All the dye washed out when i rinsed the cloth. I used Dylon dyes on the same batch and they fixed fine, so it wasn't the fabric or my technique. I really think it just isn't very fast dye. I may be wrong but I'd advise caution with this product.

Materialien haben die Farbe nicht gut angenommen bzw war nicht gut fixiert,bei gemischten Material (also Baumwolle und Baumwolle Polyester mix) Dafür das es vergleichsweise sehr teuer ist hat es nichts zu bieten.

This did not perform up to standard, I followed the instructions to a tee, and my garments were left the same color as before they were dyed, if I could give it zero stars I would, you would be better of going to the casino than spending your money on this.
