Hothouse Flower: 5 (ADDICTED SERIES) : Ritchie, Krista, Ritchie, Becca: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Truly Fabulous Book & Series!!!! - This was the much anticipated next story in the Calloway Sister’s series, a spin off from Krista & Becca’s Addicted series. If you haven’t read the Addicted series you really should. These books are some of the best written on the market. They draw you into the story-line with amazing characters, emotional scenes, and a depth to the overall novel which is way beyond many books available at the moment. These are not short books but you can’t help but cry when they finish and you just want more! Hothouse Flower tells Ryke and Daisy’s story, the two fifth wheels in their family’s relationship. Lo & Lily and Connor & Rose are still present throughout this story and add to the emotional rollercoaster that you are taken on by Ryke and Daisy as they try to resist their feelings for one another whilst under the scrutiny of their family. Daisy, now 18, is still struggling to come to terms with the intruder in her home but it is Ryke and not her sisters who she turns to for support. Ryke, despite his foul mouth, is sweet and tender towards Daisy but has resisted his feelings towards her, until now. Ryke is under pressure not to act on his feelings though and is continually warned by Lo to keep away from Daisy, his girlfriend’s little sister. I love Daisy’s personality and don’t give a damn attitude. She lives life to the full even if it results in her life being put in danger, repeatedly. Combine that with Ryke’s desperation to protect her and you have an amazing story which pulls on your heart strings. ***“You’re a hothouse flower,” I tell her. “You can’t grow under natural conditions. You need adventure. And security and love in order to stay alive.”*** Ryke and Daisy throughout the book face ups and downs whilst all the time just wanting to be together, alone, and without the pressure of their family and paparazzi bearing down on them. I’ve never met such a dysfunctional group of characters who work so well together. Lily and her sex addiction, Lo and his alcoholism, Rose and her OCD and Connor with his holier than thou attitude. I love the bickering between Rose and Lo and their sparring never gets old. It’s these dominating personalities though which are Daisy’s downfall and over the last few years her life has slowly spiralled out of control and without Ryke at her side she would have fallen and been forgotten. ***“No restraints. One-hundred-and-fifty miles per hour. You and me, sweetheart.”*** I loved the ending to the story, it has a HEA with no cliffie in sight, but sets the scene nicely for more of these loveable characters. Reviewed on behalf of Jezabell Girl & Friends Review: The Best! - I have just found a new favourite book! I could not wait to read this book and it exceeded my expectations. For me Daisy and Ryke always stole the scenes in the Addicted series and "Kiss The Sky". This book did the characters justice. So many twists and turns, keeping the readers emotions involved. I laughed and almost cried! Amazing does not even cover it. Please read this book! Spread the word. These writers deserve recognition. The characters in this series are larger than life. I just love it. No flaws. Total perfection!

Amazing
This is one of the best series of books I have ever read and I read a lot! The Calloway sisters are all so different and each of their stories is unigue but fits so well into the flow of the series. This is Daisy's story. The writing is superb and the storyline kept my attention all the way to the end. I can't wait for more from these exceptionally talented writers.

Still addicted (to this series)
I seem to read a lot of books that form part of a series. Usually I give up on them after the 2nd or more rarely the 3rd. This series however is unique in that the story gets better with each book. Not only am I not giving up in this series but I'm already looking forward to reading the next instalment.

Pages fall out
The story itself is great but so far all the books I’ve ordered for this series the pages have fallen out . The pages just come apart from the spine and are a struggle to put back in properly

Holy freaking Hothouse Flower....Ryke Meadows = Daisy Calloway...Ever since we first read about these two characters..we routed for them..even if she was 15..he was her other half..she turned 16 and he was there protecting...in kiss the sky we were hoping that something would happen..a little kiss..something to prove that they knew they were for each other.but they still played the cat and mouse game..but who was chasing who...we waited with baited breath...for that moment that they open their eyes and accept that they are to be as one...their story was twist and turns..heartbreak..laughs..joy..pain.secrets..family..love...and finally finally their hea...what a great way to end their story..actually i'm hoping for more and more books about this family..I would read every single one..

It's hard for me to describe how much I loved this book- mostly because I am currently sleep deprived due to reading all night! Ryke and Daisy's story was brilliant in the way we have come to expect from Krista and Becca Ritchie, a heartfelt story built around characters we have come to know and love. Similarly to Kiss the Sky, HF brought a deeper understanding to secondary characters we already knew from the previous books in the series, building on the characterisation previously established. Through reading their perspectives, HF not only provided backstory and motivations to enhance previous events, but propelled the story forward in a main plotline that was unique to these characters, staying fresh and exciting while sharing elements of the high stakes, emotionally raw and a delicate balance between dark and light stories of the previous Addicted and Colloway books. Reading HF was a wonderful experience, it is rare that book that is so highly anticipated for fans of a series is neither anticlimatic and disappointing nor read like fan servicing wish fulfillment. I truly loved HF just as much as the previous books in the series, it is a joy to discover how K&B continue to grow as authors as the writing is only improving with stories that manage to avoid falling into the New Adult common tropes that can overwhelm the genre. My only criticism is the belief that readers could start with KTS, skipping the Addicted books just means missing out on a great foundation and wonderful reads that cannot be fully captured by the minimal backstory given (a positive- nothing is worse than waiting for book 5 to find it filled with exposition!). While not strictly essential, I doubt those who hadn't gone on the full journey with the character would feel the same appreciation for this story, as well as how well it has been developed. I would recommend K & B Ritchie's Addicted series and companion novels as an example of what New Adult can be at it's best- strong, well developed characters growing and evolving, with riveting stories (and of course some HOT sexy times).
