Morphy Richards Jet Steam Generator Iron 2200w - Purple

I had the previous version of this model from Morphy Richards, and only after 7 years of loyal and heavy duty usage did it finally give up the ghost, so when it came to ordering a replacement, I knew that I could rely on this brand so ordered another model similar to my first. This item is amazing, it cuts down my ironing time by half easily, and as someone who used to spend over 4 hrs a week ironing, it's an important factor. It works brilliantly on items such as Jeans, linens and premium cotton bedding, the creases come out with so little effort or pressure required which helps with the arm ache factor. It also is great for delicate items such as silk and wool, no stretching of the fibers at all. The steam function is superb, no horrible dribbles of fluid all over your clothes which you get with a lot of steam irons I have tried in the past, but as the instructions suggest, you really shouldn't use tap water in the tank as limescale will build up, I use ironing water and never had a problem with my old model using this. The price is very reasonable considering the quality and longevity you get with this steam generator, I have seen so many on the market at a much higher price, but I am more than happy to stick with a brand I trust and a model that is so easy to use.

I don't usually review items - but for this one I have to! This is by far the best Iron I have ever bought. Yes, If you are not used to having a steam iron then you have to get used to having the base as well as the iron, but that really does not take long. Its great quality, and no it is not too heavy. It does not leak water, though once temperature is reached you do need to steam in the air for a few seconds to clear the water droplets and create the steam. Again, no negative reflection on the product. The steam function is AMAZING! Not only does it leave clothes perfectly ironed with minimal effort, and in minimal time, but it does not burn as easily as conventional products meaning the sole plate is still in pristine condition months and months later. The water tank is of good capacity. I have read some reviews that it runs out too quickly, but on constant steam I can iron for approx 1 hour before it needs a refill which is sufficient. And its not that noisy at all for all those moaning out there! Yes it will be noisier - its a steam generator - but its nothing to bother you! How good exactly is this iron? From someone who detested ironing, I still iron towels and pants after many months of using this iron ans I LIKE IT SO MUCH!!!

For the price it's pretty good. It's very light weight and looks a bit cheap but once the water has heated and you use the steam function it's very quick and effective.

Excellent product

I have recently bought this morphy richards steam generator iron and I am so impressed with the results. It is very easy to use, just fill the water tank, plug in, press the power switch and away you go! You can use the iron with or without steam....to use steam, there is a little button on the handle to keep pressed. The amount of steam release is powerful and very very effective. There is a anti-scale filter which is a requirement in a hard water area such as mine and I will require to change the filter now and again. The results from this iron are excellent though. I iron a lot of my husband's shirts for work and the iron has cut down the amount of time it takes me to get creases out of clothes. Instead of taking a number of attempts to get creases out, the steam from this iron has it out in just one glide over it! The resulting iron stays in the clothing, as with my old iron, you could see creases starting to creep back in even while the clothes were hung up in the wardrobe. I highly recommend this product. Five stars.

This is my first Steam Generator and bought it on the back of a recommendation when my iron died on me. Does everything it says on the box. Light and easy to use and gets the job done in half the time. Yes it does occasionally dribble a little as other reviewers have pointed out but it's only water so soon disappears and the price comparison to another model with the non drip factor built in is not in my opinion worth paying the extra for. Having said that I don't think I would have paid the full price this was purported to be sold for before the sale but all in all a great item and good value for the price I paid and am very pleased with it so far.

I'm so pleased with this new iron. I've never had a steam generator one before, they seemed very expensive for something I didn't know if I'd like. However this was a bargain for the money (£80), considering you can easily spend £40-50 on a normal iron, it was worth the risk for the price. The best way to describe how good it is, can be summed up by saying that I'm now even ironing the kids pyjamas!!! Never done that before lol Even jeans mostly only need to be passed over once with this iron, most items you can get away with only ironing one side of (so half the ironing time straight away), and because the steam is so good, I've haven't yet needed to use the water spray. I won't be going back to the 'old fashioned' irons now.

I ordered from TBM Co. who having had a run on stock passed the order on to Morphy Richards - no complaints about this as Jet Stream arrived on next day delivery. Great! However I found that the water tank was cracked and water poured everywhere,so for speed (or so I thought) I contacted Morphy Richards directly who agreed to supply a replacement. 6 days passed and nothing arrived so I phoned again and was assured it was on the way; I waited another 4 days, still nothing so phoned again finally speaking to a supervisor (after much resistance) who reluctantly agreed to send a further water tank next day delivery. It arrived after 2 days, but I am still waiting for the first one. Moral of this story - anything wrong go back to Amazon and don't try to be clever. The iron is fantastic and zips through the ironing like tthere's no tomorrow! Highly recommended
