Flaplock - White Letterbox Security Lock to Prevent unauthorised Access via existing Letter Flap.

This is an excellent product. I like that its discrete whilst providing security as it fits over your existing internal letter box flap and doesn't look that dissimilar from a normal letter box. The flap can be locked on both sides with a simple bolt. Many guests including a home security expert have commented on how good a design it is.

Simple and effective

It would ave bben ok, it I had tripple checked the measurements!! I contacted the seller who was uber helpful - until I can think of a way to affice this, it will sit quietly in the corner - service and after service excellent

I decided on this method of securing our letterbox after hearing about the deaths of a family's young children in an arson attack where flammable material was pushed through & set alight. Whilst liquid could possibly trickle down the inside of the door there is no way paper, rags etc can get in. When fitting ours we first cleaned the door around the letterbox with alcohol solution then stuck the flap in place with the self adhesive pads, then used the supplied screws to make it extra secure. It would require considerable force to break this off from the outside. We lock ours up after the postie has been in the morning & leave it locked until the next day giving us the added benefit of no unwanted junk coming through the door. I also purchased a notice (from Amazon) for the outside letterbox warning people not to post junk mail. For me it's a small price to pay for the added security. Easy to fit & would recommend.

We had letterbox security at the back of our minds for a while, both from the perspective of malicious damage/vandalism as well as security of post. We found a number of options were available such as bags and cages but the fairly minimal impact of this lockable flap won us over.Fitting really couldn't be much simpler; ensure surfaces are clean and dry and then fit the flap using two sticky pads. No tools necessary (except a spirit level). Screws are included should you wish to make an even more secure fitting although I haven't used those.The item is finished in a glossy white and, whilst that finish has started to chip away after several months use, it doesn't detract too much from the overall look of the item - no one other than the postman has even noticed it is there (which is a good thing as it presumably blends in reasonably well on a painted white door). The postman is only aware it is there as I asked him to check he could still deliver mail when he arrived just after fitting had been completed.The flap has prevented some junk mail being put through the letterbox (even though significant efforts were made to push it through); it even withstood the attempts of a courier trying to post a parcel (he just dumped it on the doorstep before I could get to the door).Whilst it is not the most glamorous item to have on view in the hallway, it blends in reasonably well on a white door and has the added benefit of being a good draught excluder. I have attached mine only using the supplied sticky pads but remain impressed at their adhesive qualities getting on for a year after fitting.

Great easy to fit must have item

I bought this for my elderly mothers property. She is suffering from dementia, and we have had to develop a method of capturing mail in an external post box, which meant that we needed to secure the existing letter box. I could not believe how easy this item was to fit - stick in place with the supplied pads and then drill four pilot holes in the fixing holes (ours was a UPVC door), check that the screws are not too long for the thickness of the door, and then fit the screws. All inside about 10 minutes. It looks as though this item is designed to suit most letterboxes that come with UPVC doors these days. I then decided to simply tighten up the bolts & nuts on the two locking levers to stop my Mum unlocking the flap. Recommended without any hesitation.

WOW! This does exactly what it says on the tin! My worry is the increasing news stories about fireworks being put through letterboxes and with a young child with Autism (he obsesses about fireworks around this time of year) that would be a disaster for him as well as the fire risk involved. The Flaplock took literally minutes to fit and that included the drilling for the extra secure fitting with screws. I have the peace of mind now that when the postman has been i can simply lock it and that's that until the following morning. Splendid idea for a product and well worth the cost.
