Good replacement valve
I bought this to replace a Pfister 48298-0100 valve for my shower. I had to call Pfister to get the replacement part number (974-5299). It works great and is easy to install. You should note the following:1) I did not see a designation for installing the unit to get the Hot/Cold direction correct. You have a 50/50 chance of getting it right. When I first installed it, the water was Hot initially and moved toward cold.2) Remove the plastic adapter that is attached if your old valve does not match.

This cartridge with the metal neck was well worth the extra cost. No more plastic necks that wobble after time.

Easy installation, perfect fit and smooth operation
Installed this PB valve in a circa 2008 Pfister shower control and it now works better than the original. Easy installation, great fit (no leaks) and easily adjustable anti-scald plate. Adapter for older valves comes per-installed so unless you have a newer model it installs right out of the box as is.
