Does absorb but if the person doesnt get up for a few hours it will leak onto clothes. When wet they do swell and are very big (takes up space in your rubbish).

Extra protection when needed
Bought these for my elderly mother to wear inside her pull ups as extra protection. After a couple of struggles putting them inside the pull ups, she now says they are the best thing ever !

I actually bought this in December 2022 because my period flow was insanely heavy; I went to the emergency room because I was legitimately scared (I was 22 and this was not at all normal for me) and was changing my usual pads about every 5 minutes. I ordered this the same day and got it 2 days later (thankfully my flow had calmed down slightly by then, but it was still MUCH worse than usual). I haven't had to use them since, but I would recommend them to someone who regularly goes through what I did. If you DO get them for a heavy flow, bear in mind that they are huge and probably not designed for walking around during the day. They will feel awkward and I would recommend wearing a long shirt or tying a hoodie around your waist, just in case the pad becomes visible. Although you would probably be doing that anyway if you were bleeding as much as I was. Anyway, if you're considering buying them for incontinence-related purposes, I recommend them as well since periods are an ongoing thing that cannot be 'held in' whereas urine is typically produced less frequently.
