Perfect Fit With Polk Audio Speakers in 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan
For anyone looking to replace the speakers in their 2013 Grand Caravan, or if you are wondering if these will work with Polk audio speakers, these are perfect. I replaced the stock 6x9 front door speakers with a Polk MM6502 component set and just because I'm old school, I was going to make my own speaker adapters. That was until I went to Home Depot and saw how much a piece of 1/4" plexiglass was. I have been out of the car audio game for about 20 years and did not know how expensive plexi has become, so I ordered these instead.Apparently (based on a bunch of bad reviews) there a bunch of 6.5" speakers that require a larger cutout and you would have to open the hole, but the Polk 6.5" speakers dropped in with maybe 1/8" of play. I did have to make 4 holes for the speaker but I drilled them very small so the screws were still pretty snug going in. I read a bunch of reviews about these plates being flimsy and cracking and yes, they are fairly thin, but they are not brittle. If you get too close to the edge with a screw, or if you try to just run a screw through without a pilot hole you might crack the plastic, but if you drill a pilot hole and don't overtighten the screws (or go larger and use machine screws, nuts, and washers) you should have no issues. There were perfect for this install and they would have worked in the rear which also has 6x9 speakers. For the price these are great and I would not hesitate to use them again.

Needed trimming
Good quality but needed trimming to fit 6" speakers.

Easy peasy saved me from buying speaker size I didn’t have laying around in my garage
Worked for me. It’s an adapter not all speaker manufacturers sizes are the same so some modifications will usually be called for.

Buyer beware - these may not fit your choice of 6.5 & 5.25 inch speakers
I bought these adapters after having been advised by another site's tech support that these would fit my 97 Dodge Ram front door panels and be able to use 6.5 & 5.25-inch speakers OK. I bought a pair of Pyle PLDV6K 6.5-inch component speakers for the front doors and I'm impressed with these. However, the Scosche SA69 adapter I bought to use with these won't work with these speakers without a LOT of carving to modify the opening to allow the Pyle speakers to fit flush with the adapter surface. There are also no holes in the adapter that come close to matching with the numerous holes available in the frame of the Pyle speakers, so I'll have to make new holes and provide my own hardware to attach the speakers to the adapter as well. I also bought 5.25-inch Pyle speakers for the rear seat area and out of curiosity used these to see if this size would fit. They do and there are holes that match the mounting tabs on these speakers, however there is a sizable air gap around the outside edge that will allow sound pressure waves from the front of the speaker to go around to the backside and cancel quite a bit of bass response these could make. Even with these short comings I will use them to mount my 6.5" speakers as there's no other way to mount these in the original 6x9 speaker holes in the doors. As for the adapter material quality, it's a good strong plastic that is thick enough that is shouldn't easily break and should stand up to years of use. Buyers looking for this to fit all 6.5-inch speakers just need to be aware that is may not.UPDATE: After carefully centering the 6.5-inch speaker cut-out template over the Scosche 6x9 adapters and again, carefully cutting out the absolute minimum plastic material needed to mount the speakers, I discovered the plastic material is NOT NEARLY as strong and durable as initially thought. After carefully tightening all nuts and machine screws to mount the speakers I discovered one hole where the plastic material had basically fractured into many small pieces, rendering that hole totally unusable. I will have to try to rebuild this using something like JB Weld or similar known strong material, then reshaping it and drilling another mounting hole once that's done, in order to effectively mount this speaker. If this extensive repair work doesn't work I will not buy another set of adapters and try again; I'll simply buy some 1/8-inch thick aluminum plate and make new adapter plates from that and know that I'll not have any issues with fragile adapter material. In closing, I would NOT recommend this adapter due to the extensive problems I've experienced and the discovery of how frangible this adapter's material is if the buyer determines their speakers require modifying the adapter to make them fit. Even then, the fact the material fractured so easily, makes me wonder if it would have held up even without modifying it like I had to.

A short term solution, look elsewhere for quality
These adapters are for a range of speaker sizes from 5.5 to 6.5, adapting to a 6x9 hole. It's not very easy to cut the sizes out. But fortunately the material is fairly flimsy. What they don't tell you is that a 6.5 inch speaker will not fit with the tweeter to the side. I only found this out after I drilled the hole for the tweeter

If you’re not lazy they work just fine.
Got these to install my new NVX 6.5 inch component speakers. With my dremel and a pretty course sanding bit I was able to easily trim down the extra material, I then pre drilled my holes, probably too small even, and installed my midrange drivers with some foam tape to prevent vibrations. I had absolutely no issue with any cracking, once my drivers were installed the adapters were plenty sturdy. What you need to understand if you’re installing 6.5 inch drivers is that these are universal adapters. These are made to install 6.5” and 5.25” speakers in the majority of vehicles with 6x9 factory speakers. Think about it, 6.5” and 5.25” speakers are two very different sizes, the only way to make this adapter work with both is to leave some extra material. If you want 6.5” speaker adapters that are plug and play, then buy those. Also the screw holes may not quite line up with your car’s holes, that can easily be fixed with a box cutter or drill. You NEED to pre drill your holes for your speaker holes, it takes 10 seconds and will prevent the plastic from being stressed and cracking. Overall I think these are excellent adapters, especially for the price. Only change I would make is some guide lines for the 6.5” driver cutout like the tweeter area has, would not be hard to implement and make trimming these a much easier process. Overall as I said I think these are great, used them in the front doors of my ‘05 Ram 1500. As a bonus my midrange speakers even lined up perfectly with the grilles on the door panels!

Not the perfect fit for Boston Acoustics speakers but...
...nothing really is with their large baskets. Nevertheless, after a little more shaping with the Dremel tool, all is well and the speakers sit perfectly in place of the old ones in my G37. Definitely an easy solution. Many thanks to the seller for their prompt service and reasonable pricing. It's a wonder why they're so damn hard to find in Australia (the decently made ones, that is).
