ION Audio Tough Sounds | Battery-Powered Bluetooth-Enabled Noise Reduction Headphones For Superior Hearing Protection with Hands-Free Calling and AM/FM Radio

As promised an updated review now that I have been using these for about a year now.I have now added a TaoTronics Bluetooth Transmitter to my collection and this has made me feel even more positive towards the ION headphones. It allows me to connect an MP3 player without the need for a cable and gives excellent results. Plus, I can pair a Victure Bluetooth MP3 player and a mobile phone at same time with incoming calls muting the MP3 output.Sound quality is good. I think some people might appreciate having some form of 'tone control' depending on their choice of music, but for what I listen to (classical, spoken word, occasional prog rock and folk) I have no complaints. FM reception is OK, no better, no worse than your average FM radio. Shame there is no DAB feature.Noise reduction is very noticeable compared with your average headphones. For the record I wear them when driving a tractor with an open cab. I want to reduce the noise level but still be able to hear some of what is happening around me. These do provide a substantial volume from the radio, but be careful NOT to turn the volume too high as a means of obscuring the outside world, well not for long periods.Using an MP3 player I find the output from a Sansa Clip is slightly less than I would like, especially for spoken word, classical. I also have a Kubik Evo which has plenty of output. You need a shortish 3.5 to 3.5 jack lead, one with 90 degree connector(s) is preferred. Using a Victure Bluetooth MP3 Player (via Bluetooth) gives more than ample volume level.A little tight on my head (and I do not have a big head!!!), but better than being sloppy, may annoy after several hours in hot weather. Having worn these for several hours on one of the few hot days this summer I found them uncomfortable after a time but bearable and certainly no worse than standard ear defenders which don't provide entertainment.Connected my recently acquired android phone and that was a breeze via bluetooth.Also connected to my ancient Nokia perfectly OK though in neither case have I had a 'real' call.Easy to use the radio though setting up presets a little fiddly. Like most things, if you're not familiar is can be awkward and repeated use improves the technique. Hope to find an easy way of clearing presets. Spoilt by other devices that supply station names so had to think about frequencies again.A single charge lasted for at least 7 hours of radio play. Can't be more specific because I do have tendency to switch them off after the umpteenth commercial break, switching back on again when I think they're over. A 10 minute charge lasted for in excess of 40 minutes.Overall not a bad product. I would certainly recommend it at the sub £70 price. If you have more money to spend I guess there will be better devices with more features but I needed something that would be used in a variety of environments and needed something that I wouldn't be heartbroken if they got damaged or lost - though I would be unhappy because they are (currently) right for what I want.

Well constructed, paired with my Samsung S3 Bluetooth no problem. Works much the same as pairing in modern motor cars, incoming calls are announced whether your are using the Headphone's AM/FM radio or audio from your Bluetooth device. Sound quality is ok, not high fidelity by any means but fine given the noisy environments these Headphones are designed to be used in. I'm using these Headphones in an industrial environment, wearing protective glasses with these Headphones posed no problem. Two small gripes, the charging cable is ridiculously short and the instruction sheet print required a magnifying glass to read for this '50-something' user.

Received a faulty pair that wouldnt connect to bluetooth very well. Replacement pair works perfectly streaming spotify with Bluetooth, radio and hands free. The sound of the speakers are decent, loud enough. Battery life is good, run 12hrs plus on a 2hr charge. However after using the headset for a number of months I am disappointed with the comfort of the design. There is a hard rim of plastic surrounding the foam that bites on your ears after after while. It's copable but could have been designed around. They are also a bit needlessly bulky.

I bought these some time ago. I’m always working alone outside doing loud noises jobs and wanted something that I could listen to Youtube or music from my iPhone on. These are really really good. Very comfortable and the battery lasts all day on Bluetooth mode.I have one niggle that if I was to put my name on this brand I’d need to change. The plastic “wish bone” design that holds the ear cups is a weak link. I use these for seriously rugged work and they are on my head for sometimes 12 hours a day easy. I’ve dropped them several times and the plastic wish bone cup holders are a weak point. They’ve broke three times on me and I’ve stuck them back together easily enough with superglue but to make these the best they can be it needs a more rugged design and material like steel to avoid being broken easilyThat aside I’d buy another set of these no problem. They are goodHope that helps someone decide whether they want a pair or not

Brought this product in Feb 2018 work very well and was generally pleased. Use was around 50hrs until Sept 2018 when the left hand speaker started to rattle. Amazon is refunding my money. Was a good product but didnt last.

I've bought a lot of headphones, looking for good noise protection - I have (I had; they're in prison now) noisy relatives, and the noise I had to filter out was extreme. Bose were useless against that type of thing, and they self-destruct as well. There are many type of radio ear defenders and they vary so widely you can't really tell without trying most of them. I have tried several, and these are the business: With the radio on, you can't hear anything external, and what's also important is, people nearby can't hear your radio. You can test this by pressing the cups closed against each other and whacking the volume up: No irritating clicky noises. So you can use it in the library, although I could see a situation where people refuse to believe they're not hearing it because they expect to - ie they could imagine it when they're really hearing a fan or something. I've only used them in private and when doing outside jobs on my own property, so that's not been an issue so far. Bluetooth input works well. In theory they have a microphone so you can use them as a full phone headset. I've not been able to test this as well as I'd like, due to problems with my phones. The microphone is a tiny hole, too; so that's not a good sign. Your mileage may vary, but always remember to check it's not an issue with the Bluetooth host instead. They also work very well as normal ear defenders, with the sound off. They also have no battery to replace and are fast to recharge. No DAB radio, so the reception may vary, but equally there's no annoying pause before it starts. If that really bothers you, you can use a Bluetooth DAB radio in combination with them.

I bought these for a project and using my Kubota. They are very tough and have excellent protection. They last all day on a charge and have decent range on the Bluetooth. I've used them operating the Kubota for days on end, pressurewashing, cement mixing and cuttIng the lawn. They are comfortable, easy to use, last a long time, durable and lightweight. The Bluetooth phone far exceeded my expectations and I can talk and hear clearly in very noisy conditions. Also the radio picks up more stations than my car. Good deal and good buy !

Absolut zufrieden.Der Sound ist klasse.Die Bedienung ist sehr einfach und die Lautstärke ist stufenlos zu regeln, auch mit Handschuhen möglich.Der Empfang von Radio ist sehr gut und der Sendersuchlauf funktioniert bestens.Die Qualität via Bluetooth ist auch sehr gut und hat mich überzeugt. Auch die erstmalige Kopplung war sehr einfach und benutzerfreundlich.Der Akku hat einen ganzen Tag durchgehalten, nach knapp 11h hat er dann aber schlapp gemacht.Der Tragekomfort des Gehörschutz ist einwandfrei und er dämpft die Umgebungsgeräusche sehr gut.Alles in allem würde ich den Gehörschutz jedem empfehlen, Preis/Leistung 1A

1- Positif- isolation anti-bruit.- radio FM sur la gamme d'ondes en France 87,5-108 Mhz- bluetooth- recharge par port USB- un peu chaud et lourd par rapport à un casque normal, mais supportable2- Négatif- horloge se dérègle- la charge dure une 10aine d'heures ce qui est correct mais en dessous de 20 heures annoncées- port USB fragile : j'ai dû retourner l'article, j'espère que cela ne m'arrive plus- pourquoi pas la radio RNT/DAB au lieu de OM.

Semplicemente fantastiche. Isolano perfettamente i rumori circostanti permettendo di ascoltare musica via cavo, Bluetooth o tramite la radio integrata nelle cuffie stesse. È possibile ricevere le chiamate direttamente nelle cuffie mentre si stanno utilizzando e mentre attorno a voi ci sono forti rumori...
