Very helpful tool. I don't know why I didn't buy one until now, but I was doing a huge job replacing hallway lighting and since the wires are all above my head, I couldn't afford to do it the old way (previously I was simply cutting a groove in the wire and stripping them manually). These make life so much easier. Great design and simple to use with one hand. Recommend any DIYer to have a set and the quality seems great on these.

Great tool

I owned a similar tool of uncertain age which was originally purchased pre-used in the 70s, but since lost. In the period since, I have tried all sorts of tools to strip wires from the supposedly simple to the more trick; some work on a few occasions and others only rarely and I hate to think just how much had been spent on tools to perform this basic job but which cannot always be relied upon. This is a reliable tool and will work with wires of many different dimensions and constructions, provided that they are correctly adjusted for the specific wire in hand. Adjustment is by screwing the adjuster in or out and then tightening the lock nut when the desired setting is reached. The handles are plastic with the soft inserts much favoured by Stanley for many of its tool handles. The tool works well, is comfortable and usually easy to use. If incorrectly adjusted, it may fail to strip the insulation or cut the wire at the relevant extremes. Recommended if properly used and adjusted.

Excellent and a must item for the toolbox

Does exactly what I wanted them to do. The lock screw does tend to loosen but it's not a real problem.

Just look twice before buying. Works okay but other may function better.
