An eighty sheet (160 page) A5 pad of top quality Clairefontaine 90 gsm Vellum. And the sheets are perforated at the top so you don't have to tear them out of the wire binding if you want to remove one. What's not to like? The paper is fountain pen friendly and you can write on both sides of a sheet with minimal show-through. The obvious comparison is to the Clairefontaine 90 sheet side-wirebound A5 notebook. I prefer wire binding because it's the easiest way to get a notebook that lies flat. I prefer top binding because the side bound wires interfere with my hand position when writing on the sheet backs. You can get higher quality paper (check out top-of-the-line Japanese notebooks) but at a much higher price. To me, Clairefontaine paper represents the best value in high quality paper.

Clairefontaine is my favorite writing paper, very smooth, good weight, and doesn't feather or show bleed-through when using a fountain pen. This ruled, top spiral bound steno-sized notepad is good for most any task. The pages have micro-perforations near the top for neat and clean tear-out if you want to remove a sheet. The smooth glossy finish cover is sturdy but not too thick and looks good. I wish the color could be chosen, but I was hoping for a pretty color and received one. I also use the small Clairefontaine pocket sized notebooks. Clairefontaine is worth the cost if you like or need good quality writing paper. It's a French company dating back to the 1800s and the paper is still made in France. I also like Rhodia notepads but I think Clairefontaine is a little bit better. Both are good for fountain pen use.

Great quality but the Rhodia pad with 80gsm is jalf the price.

I really like this notebook. I use it almost everyday for taking notes, writing down thoughts, and for keeping track of thoughts for sermons. The paper is smooth and works very well for fountain pens. The page is perforated to tear off smoothly and easily, but is hardly noticeable. For me, it is worth the price.

Although it says "Pack of 5" in description, only 1 is sent. Description needs to be changed. Quality is good, but this is quite over-priced for a single note pad. Not happy as was meant as a gift.

Sur vos petits carreaux, l'intervalle entre les lignes est trop étroit ! La France est le seul pays où vous nous étouffez avec vos petits carreaux.
