Good product. Excellent service.
I bought one of these leads in July 2014. It let me put a USB scanner and printer on the opposite side of a room from my PC with only one cable trailed around the room, and worked perfectly. After about 15 months the cable failed. I posted a 2-star review here on Amazon as a result, as I wasn't happy with only getting just over a year out of an electronics product. All credit to CSL, they noticed my review and contacted me to offer me a free replacement product. That's excellent customer service, and as the product did actually work very well until I hit the problem, and now I have a working cable again, I think it's only fair I give it (and CSL) a 5 star rating.

Great item for my use
My son bought a small usb fan to clip on to the side of his bed-side shelf but the cord was not long enough to reach the nearest socket (they never are!) so bought this item. It was cheaper than some shorter length cables and had good reviews so I thought I'd try it and I must say it works perfectly. There seems to be no loss of power to the fan when using the item rather than having the fan plugged in directly and the cable length is more than perfect.

Long-distance printing possible!
I had a choice: moved all my funiture around to accommodate a new desktop PC or find a USB cable long enough to reach my printer which was located in another room. The reason for my dilema was that my laptop had died (third one in 4 years) so I had decided to buy a desktop PC (which are, pound for pound, more powerful and reliable, if less mobile than a laptop). When I needed to print I would always take the laptop to the printer - no problems. The desktop had to be located in a specific place and 'there be the rub...' I was aware that USB2 cables had a finite length of 5m over which they can work successfully unless you have a active/repeater cable. I needed to print over a distance of about 7m so I went for this 10m cable. Having checked the reviews (most positive and a few not so promising) I decided to take a chance and purchase. From box to printing in 5min no problems! it does exactly what was required. If ever I need it for a remote camera, that would be the icing on the cake, but for now I'm happy.

Really impressed
I bought this for my home cctv system. The dvr box is in the loft, I connected this and fed it through the drilled hold in my ceiling. I connected the mouse into the other end.I thought that I would loose sensitivity in the mouse dusting the length, but how wrong was I. This is a fantastic product at a really low price.Ive been using this for over 1 year now and I've never been let down

Dysfunctional
I can concur this extension lead is inadequate and dysfunctional. It can't relay data to the end point at all. It can power the end point device but data communications are totally non-existent.The cable also looks very poor quality compared to another manufacturer type I've used recently.I have asked for a refund to purchase the more expensive alternative from the previous manufacturer.

couldnt be happier with it.
i was struggling with my internet signal reaching my pc at the rear of the house, plugged this into my pc with a dongle on the other end nearer my hub and WOW I am now pulling 35 meg a sec connection, the cable worked a treat! couldnt be happier with it.

Didn't work
Wanted an extension cable to move a flatbed scanner off my desk and free up some space so ordered this item. First page scanned successfully but on trying to scan subsequent pages all I got was pings from my laptop as the device is disconnecting and trying to reconnect. Scanner is fairly basic in as much as it's just a scanner, not a multi function device, though it doesn't have its own power source, being operated entirely by the USB connection. Whether this had something to do with it I don't know, all I can say for sure is it didn't work with extension cable but worked fine without it. Not happy, wasted money and time. My advice steer clear of this cable.

"Signal Amplifier" doesn't work (and probable it doesn't even exist)
Take the "Signal Amplifier" claim with a pinch of salt. Connected an Xbox 1 controller to it and it won't stay connected. Works fine with a standard USB cable. I don't think this is anything more than a make and female USB with a long cable in between (but it's too expensive to crack open to prove). I bought this more expensive cable due to its "Signal Amplifier" claim and think this is just a misleading claim to get you to pay over the odds for what should be a very cheap cable.
