Impressive Performance, But Caution Needed for Material Compatibility
I recently purchased the Genesis GMS1015LC 15-Amp 10-Inch Compound Miter Saw with Laser Guide and 9 Positive Miter Stops from Amazon, and overall, I'm extremely satisfied with its performance and features. This miter saw is a game-changer for woodworking enthusiasts like myself, offering precise cuts and impressive power. However, there is one significant drawback that potential buyers should be aware of, as it may affect the compatibility with certain materials.First and foremost, let's focus on what this miter saw does exceptionally well. The laser guide makes a world of difference, allowing me to effortlessly align and cut with precision accuracy. It adds an extra level of confidence and saves time by reducing measurement errors. The 15-Amp motor is fantastic, providing ample power for cutting through wood effortlessly. The 10-inch blade is sharp, durable, and handles different wood types with ease. The 9 positive miter stops are another standout feature of this saw, making it a breeze to achieve consistent angles without wasting time on manual adjustments. Additionally, the build quality is robust and sturdy, ensuring stability during operation. The saw's design allows for efficient dust collection, minimizing the clean-up required after each use. Now, coming to the downside that must be highlighted. It is essential to note that this saw is not suitable for cutting metal. Although it excels in woodcutting, attempting to cut metal can lead to negative consequences. The heat generated during metal cutting has the potential to melt plastic components on the saw, possibly causing damage or compromising its functionality. Therefore, it's crucial to exercise caution and refrain from using this saw for cutting metal.Despite this limitation, the Genesis GMS1015LC shines brilliantly in its intended purpose: woodworking. As long as you stick to wood materials, you'll find yourself amazed by the precision, power, and versatility this saw offers. Its affordability and multitude of features make it an excellent choice for both amateur woodworkers and professionals alike. In conclusion, I highly recommend the Genesis GMS1015LC 15-Amp 10-Inch Compound Miter Saw to anyone who desires a reliable and accurate woodworking tool. Its laser guide, powerful motor, positive miter stops, and sturdy construction make it a standout product in its price range. Just remember to avoid using it for metal cutting to prevent any potential issues. Happy woodworking!

Works flawlessly
This has worked flawlessly for me the last couple years. No complaints. At the time of purchase it was one of the cheapest saws on the market. Definitely worth the price.

Solid stand and plenty of power
Purchased for DIY home projects, it's motor is more than adequate for my use. The swivel action is good with stops that give confidence in the angle chosen. Several parts like the hold downs, the decal designating the angle (had to glue it down after 1 week) and the blade it came with are just ok.Not sure why the laser wasn't wired in as I've left it on inadvertently even after unplugging the saw (battery operated).I would recommend it for home use, I have not done any fine detail work with it.

Not exactly as advertised
There is a manufacturing problem with this stand. I have had two shipped to me and both have had the same exact damage to one of the extension arms that holds the riser/roller. Amazon is great of course and shipped the second one to me ASAP with free second day air so I had the second broken unit quickly. Not wanting to send another back I carefully "fixed" the smashed piece to the point it would work appropriately but still...a brand new stand smashed at the factory. Buyer beware. There is a manufacturing issue with this stand. It is made in China and there seems to be no quality check/control. So buyer beware.Functionality: the stand is fairly sturdy but being that it folds up the legs do have more play in them than maybe you might think. However the stand still is sturdy when a saw is in use. But closing up the legs and moving the stand with a saw on it is a tricky thing. While the stand might fit "most" saws my Hitachi 12" sits to the side and as a result weighs the stand unevenly. This may be by design however as the point the cut is made at is centered on the saw. However, it happens that when I lift the stand to close the legs I have to be very careful about the balance of the unit or the saw will easily drop to one side. You cannot lift the carry end of the stand very high either or the physical structure of the stand will get in the way of the wheels and you will be dragging the stand and not rolling it. A six foot man such as myself has to stoop to move the stand on the wheels. So while it does roll it is not the easy breezy thing the picture on the box might make you think it is. And balance is an issue. It would be a better stand if I had three or maybe four hands.Bottom line: this is an okay stand with some manufacturing issues that are not being paid attention to and the functionality of the stand is not exactly what I was led to believe. But for $139 after all is paid it's not a bad stand either and I have been using it with decent result. If I had it to do again, barring damages, I would probably purchase another brand of stand after some deeper research.

Never heard of brand, great results.
I was looking at a DeWalt, I could not find any near by. All out of stock. Noticed this Genesis. I checked the reviews, nothing worse than DeWalt. So I ordered it. It arrived in 3 days.I opened it and immediately checked alignment of everything, before I plugged it in.Everything was in alignment. Then I plugged it in and cut some wood. All cuts were perfect.Time will tell if it wad a great purchase. For bow I am happy. I recommend you take a serious look at yhis.

steel of a deal
very nice miter saw stand all made of steel easy to put together really like the wheels makes it easy to put it away the quick release handles to move the saw to one side are nice when you are working with long broads like other have said the wheels could be wider but you get what you pay for a lot of stands do not have wheels and i wish their was a handheld when wheeling other then that all is good for the price

Description says product will fit most 12" mitre saws, well this product didn't fit my Mastercraft 12" with 17" mounting holes. They should put it in the description.
