Clear enough sound, really weak bass though
Be aware, they're definitely NOT the headphones that used to come with the HTC handsets. Same basic design, but a slightly cheaper, more plasticky feel to them when the original ones were a bit more rubbery. Sound quality is poorer too, with reasonable treble but incredibly weak bass. This results in a fairly reedy, watery sound to some tunes. Some other tunes have sounded pretty sharp, just with no punch to them. So they're definitely not the unbranded Beats headphones that used to come with HTC phones. On the flip-side, for the very casual listener who's not fussy, they're fine. I paid under £4 for them (so didn't expect much from them), and at that price you do get more than you paid for, so can't knock them in that respect. Delivery was also exceptionally quick, no faults at that end either. I only bought them as they were cheap and my last headphones broke (different headphones, different manufacturer), and they''ll be a perfectly adequate stop-gap until I get paid and go for something better.

Wow, who'd have thought!
Well, I have just taken delivery of these and given them an audition.I take my music seriously and usually spend more than is decent for a good set of earbuds or full size cans. They all serve different purposes from reference through to mids to lights and darks.I always always stick to the brands ie, AKG, Senheiser, Audio Technica etc. I know my music.I was just musing through for a new set of high end buds to replace some senheisers that are beginning to show their age. My everyday buds for walking the dogs. I happened across these. I looked at the reviews and thought that these £4.60 buds seemed to be getting quite favourable reviews. So I decided just for the hell of it to see what all the fuss is about, surely the other reviewers who are saying that they are as good as buds 10x the price are slightly exaggerating?Well, I have only tried them for around an hour. They certainly are not run in but I can tell straight away that these are good, sorry, I mean excellent.I can't believe I just said that about a £4-60 pair of buds. The build seems ok. The sound is unbelievable for the price. The sound would be acceptable if you had paid £100-£140 no kidding. I know this because I tend to pay that for a pair of buds. They have balanced mids and a nice dark bass with very little smudge. The highs are bright but not overly and actually really suit my taste in buds.I have just prior to writing this put in an order for 4 more pairs as at the cost if they only last a couple of months it's no loss. Saying that I don't see any reason why they shouldn't last way over that and with care be just as durable as any other well made bud. Time will tell! The built in remote is basic but does the job and the microphone is sensitive enough that you can talk at normal conversation levels and be heard and understood. The buds come with three very fetching pairs of various sized red gromits for small to large ear holes and the flat anti fouling lead is sufficient for the phone/mp3 player to be in your hip pocket.Get them while you can. They are seriously good buds!

Either faulty or not genuine - very dissapointed
I own a HTC 1 and had the original earphones until I lost them recently. I have to say they were the best earphones I've ever owned by a long way. Far better than any of the stock earphones that HTC have shipped with other handsets and far better than the earphones you get with Apple devices. The range of the sound and the quality was brilliant. Even at full volume the base was deep and crisp and the mid and high end was crystal clear. I ordered some replacement earphones from Amazon and the amount of positive reviews suggested I would be satisfied. The earphones arrived quickly but it was immediately obvious that the sound quality was terrible compared to the original pair that I lost. The range of sound was poor with and approaching higher volumes the sound was distorted. Even at lower volumes the quality was poor.I reported the issue via Amazon explaining as I have above and I was very quickly offered a refund. Interesting that I wasn't even offered a replacement pair of earphones? Maybe that is because the seller knows the replacement set would be equally as poor and never live up to the quality of a genuine set of HTC 1 earphones.

HTC GENUINE 39H00014-01M HANDSFREE / HEADSET FOR HTC
I bought this headset/microphone hoping it would work with my Asus MemoPad HD7 Tablet, which uses the same 4 contact 3.5mm plug.I can indeed report it works perfectly with the Asus and the microphone also functions, despite that Asus manual states an external mike is not supported. I have only used it so far on Skype contacts and received audio is excellent and reported speech from the mike is good quality, without having to hold it close to mouth.Pressing the red button on the mike, seems to play audio files on the Asus. Comes with 2 spare sets of red rubber ear buds, these are the only type of ear pieces that fit my ears comfortably, you can't go wrong for the price, am very pleased with my purchase.

An okay headset
I had this headset before when i bought the HTC One Max (the headset was given along with the phone). So using that, i loved the quality of the sound it generated. But however, after using that, this new one seems a little below par only due to the fact that the quality of sound is not the same as the one i was using before. Hence my rating of 3.

brilliant but beware
These earphones are incredible value for money. Bass is astonishingly good. So good in fact ive ordered 8 pairs in the last couple months because I'm sure they'll disappear very soon. BUT there is a manufacturing issue. 4 of the pairs I received have been sent back. Zero bass and very 'quiet'. Dont worry, you'll know if you've got a good pair! They are amazing.

pretty good headphones
pretty good headphones. for the price they are great but as far as quality and longevity they aren't the best (not the bad by any stretch of the imagination but not also not the best).I owned a pair of these headphones for ages and whenever i lost them, I'd just buy another because they're good enough and haven't really let me down.not fancy, not premium just plain ol' good.
