Excellent test record for tracking and frequency response measurements, but frequency response sweeps start at 800 Hz and go upward from there. With this limitation, it works well with REW software to graph phono cartridge frequency response curves.

The legendary brand delivers. I use this record with commercial bench test gear. Indispensable tool. Yes it’s pricy, but your valuable records are worth way more.

90% of this test record was completely useless to me but what was worth it's weight in gold were the 6 grooves to test your downforce and tracking. I thought my set up was perfect. This record proved otherwise. Cartridge manufactures give you downforce and tracking "suggestions" or "recommendations". They are only that as all my settings are now outside of their "suggestions" and "recommendations". The downforce on my Ortofon 2M Bronze was set at the "recommended" 1.5g. Each of the 6 test grooves are designed to toss your stylus out of the groove if not set up properly. I made it through four of the six grooves before it tossed the stylus out. Kept adding a little more downforce each time until it tracked perfectly through at 1.72g. The improvement in sound quality was astounding.

THIS WRITER CAN'T SAY ENOUGH GOOD ABOUT THIS EXCELLANT PRODUCT. I AM SO THANKFUL THAT I PURCHASED THIS TEST RECORD CAUSE IT SAVED ME MANY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. I HAVE BEEN REDESIGNING MY HOME STEREO SYSTEM FOR MONTHS + RECABLEING, AND UPDATING EQUIPMENT. MY TUNTABLE & CARTRIDGE SETUP ALONE WAS IN THE AREA OF $ 20K. I COULDN'T PUT MY FINGURE ON WHERE THE PROBLEMS WERE. I PURCHASED THE TEST RECORD & FOUND THAT MY NEW $ 5,000.00 MC CARTDRIGE HAS ALMOST NO CHANEL SEPERATION, VERY HARSH WAVEFORMS + DISTORTION. AFTER THE CARTDRIGE WAS REPLACED & RETESTED & FOUND THAT THE NEW EXPENSIVE PRE AMP WAS NOT EMITING A CLEAN SIGNAL. JUST BECAUSE YOU SPEND ALMOST $ 20K DOLLARS ON A TURNTABLE SETUP DOESN'T MEAN THAT IT'S GONG TO OPERATE PROPERLY. IT IS THIS WRITERS OPINION THAT YOU CAN NOT TEST A COMPLETE STEREO TURNTABLE ASSEMBLY WITHOUT THIS TEST RECORD + IT WILL ASSIST YOU IN FINDING DEFECTS IN YOUR SPEAKERS.

It did exactly what it was supposed to do. Erased any questions I had.

This is a very helpful product to deeply tune up your turntable. You might need a capable pre-amplifier.
