A very good value for money lightweight and well lit easy to hold magnifier Can highly recommend. I find it very useful

I purchased this after seeing something very similar on a tv show and scoured Amz to find something closesly resembling it. A very reasonable purchase price and being dispatched by Amz arrived quickly in a plain fuss free package/box and wrapped on soft plastic. Removed protective sheets of the lenses and popped in X3 AAA batteries. Initial thoughts, wow, that is very bright on full power and the level of brightness can be controlled by a knurled rotating wheel that is easy to use. This also acts as the on/off switch. The magnification of the lens is good for reading small print on a newspaper or similar. I wear + 2.5 dioptre reading glasses and can read without wearing my glasses with this device. So initial impressions are good and I am pleased with the purchase. Having now owned it for a while I have noticed a number of scratches in the material of the lens so clearly it is not glass and is plastic. This is disappointing as it has been wrapped in a soft microfibre cloth in the drawer when not in use but has still scratched. This could make the lens unusable if enough scratches are made. Too late for me but I suggest putting the device either in it's original box or a soft bag when not in use. It would have been nice to be provided with such an item by the manufacturer though, something for them to think about. Having said that the device is worth the money but on FULL power the batteries dont last that long, several hours but I guess it depends on what type of batteries you use, I use Amazon high capacity which are a good performance over cost choice. Have also used this device to find dropped items due to its brightness & used in power cuts at night to see where I am going. Would I recommend, definitely as long as you recognise the soft material used in the lens. I would have given 5 stars but the scratches muted my positive experience slightly.

Lightweight magnifier with a great viewing area. Allowed my 88 year old aunt to continue reading mail, TV guide etc and made her more independent.

My husband has Macular Degeneration & had hoped it would help him read small print but it distorted it too much to be useful. & had to return it.

Bought for mum. She says it is absolutely brilliant and its very well made

The item certainly magnifies as advertised but I find it too heavy and clumsy for reading books ,magazines etc, howeveve its excellent for reading small print on boxes tins, adverts etc . This is what I mainly use it for.

Very nice for the price ,excellent for viewing my First Day Covers. Would recommend.
