Says 7+ I would say that's an absolute minimum
My son loves lego so I thought we'd try some of this for a bit of variety. He is only 5 and this set is for 7+. This is a lot harder than lego in terms of fitting the pieces together and following the instructions so at his age all that ends up happening is he finds the pieces we need and I put them together.It is good that there are lots of models you can build, you need to go online to download the instructions for some of the ones on the boxHe may come to like it more in a couple of years but I think lego remains his (and my) favouriteMy cousin, who is 14, built one of the models and found it fun and enough of a challenge to feel a sense of achievement at the end. I enjoyed building one of the models too

Fantastic!
My Grandson absolutely loved this and is now well and truly hooked on all K'Nex products! It's a brilliant piece of kit and he is so pleased and happy with it. I never thought anything would be better than Lego, but I really believe this is it. It's for the older, more adventurous child.

A mi hijo de 5 años se lo regalaron de su cumple y le gusta mucho. se pueden montar 5 modelos diferentes. El modelo más llamativo es un helicóptero grande. Lleva un motor eléctrico pero no puede levantar el helicóptero. Los demás modelos también son muy chulos. Es más fácil de montar ya que hay 6-7 tipos de piezas. Es muy entretenido.

Divertido, ameno y no muy difícil de construir, aunque mi hijo de 6 años y medio ha necesitado ayuda.Hemos montado uno de los tanques y tras 2 horas lo hemos conseguido. Que lleve el motor para que se mueva el tanque es un plus...A mi hijo le ha encantado...

Buena opción para los amantes de juegos tipo lego y que quieran probar cosas nuevas. Las intrucciones son claras pero tampoco demasiado fáciles, lo que obliga a pensar y estar muy pendiente del montaje. Las piezas son de calidad y encajan bien.

Moteur HS, pièces manquantes
Article commandé pour offrir à mon fils à Noël, reçu complet mais avec le moteur HS.Échangé, cette fois le moteur fonctionne; mais il manque énormément de pièces, impossible de faire un seul modèle... Très insatisfait, je comprends qu'on ne trouve cette marque plus que sur internet et plus dans les magasins comme à une époque.

9 & 6) love it! They particularly like that it is "motorized"
My 3 kids have been enjoying a few previous K'Nex set that were given to them as a gift. So needless to say, we wrapped this one up for our youngest son. My sons and daughter (ages 11, 9 & 6) love it! They particularly like that it is "motorized"; they also like the functioning "nerf" style gun. The actual builds are much sturdier than some of the other K'nex builds that we've seen. As a result, it stays together fairly well, even with slightly rough play. This was a great buy for my kids.Having read a previous Amazon review on this product, I would like to clarify one particular fact. There are plenty of pieces to build any one of the featured items at a time. This is all that was promised on the box, as well as in the product description. However, I do believe the two smaller vehicles can be built at the same time. This is routine for all "so-many in one" type products. For example, a Lego Creator set may give you directions and pieces for 3 separate builds, but no-one presumes that they can all be built at the same time. It is an "or" function. It is also the same for a K'Nex 5 in 1. Any other reviews claiming that there were not enough pieces likely misunderstood this fact. There are enough pieces for any one of the vehicles (or the two small ones at one time) plus a handful of leftovers.

It's a nice set. my son loved it
It's a nice set. my son loved it. We saw it in a store and i knew this was the model he wanted. It comes with a battery operated motor so the vehicles can move. he built a tank and a few other cars then put the little motor so they drive on their own. Batteries are included.

I ordered this for my husband for Christmas. He had this set when he was younger and played with his brothers. Awesome kit!
My son for this for Christmas and built the big helicopter with my dad. It was challenging but that's what he wanted. It's really cool a sturdy once built! I already knew he couldn't build all 5 at once, inkust explained to him when he opened it 5 in 1 means he could build 5 things but one at a time.
