Broke within days, replacement broke same day!
My (18 month old) son is obsessed with this toy... sadly, the motor for the train died within a few days. I contacted Amazon and they sent out a replacement right away - AWESOME. My son was obviously upset it didn't move, and he'd press the button and wait for it to go, but ended up just pushing it forward. Anyway, the new one worked for a whole afternoon!!! So upset that the quality is so horrible... but my son loves it so it stays. He's okay with it not moving now, and just dances to the songs, presses the buttons and carries it with him everywhere. It's definitely not a quality toy, as it couldn't handle simple play for one afternoon without breaking. It is cute and the three characters that come with it are as well. It has a high and low volume, on/off, and can also turn off/on the train movement. The songs are nice and catchy, nothing too obnoxious.

choo-choose this without hesitation!
Bought this for my granddaughter for her first birthday. She is now 1-1/2 and this choo-choo was and continues to be one of her favorites among a roomful of her baby toys. She reaches for this often, pushing it, carrying it, dancing up and down to its music and waving bye bye to it as it chugs away. The train has many attractive features that encourage play and discovery. It continues to excite her as her maturity level grows and she discovers new ways to interact with it. The animal figures that came with the toy are perfect for little hands to carry around, rub on teething gums and play hide and seek with. This has been a highly versatile toy. When my granddaughter is asked how tall she is, she responds with her excited arms stretched high in the air. I'm pretty sure if she understood the meaning of "fun," she'd give the same response for how much she likes this toy!

Great Toy
Really fun toy that has multiple levels of play. At its most basic, it's a two-piece train that your child can manually drive around the room. Switch it on, though, and all of its cool elements are on display. The train can be switched on to move on its own when you press the green front of the train, which is really fun for kids to watch. There are three different levels of "learning" (never sure if anything is learned, but the toys sure are fun), with different songs, expressions, and descriptions (about colors, numbers, etc.)The toy comes with three characters - my baby's is definitely the frog; there have been many times that frog has come with us on trips to the grocery or school pick-up.It usually comes with batteries and there is no assembly, other than hooking one train on to the other.

Big hit except for one major flaw.
My little man, who is one and half, really likes this BUT he get so frustrated that the back cars come unhooked so easily. He can't quite hook them back up by himself yet so it has just created a lot of frustrated screaming fits. He loves the little figures and all the buttons. He likes being able to make it move by himself. Lately I just let him play with the engine and the cars separately and he loves that. Hopefully in a while he will be able to connect them himself and enjoy it as a whole.**Update**So now it won't move forward anymore. It just kinda jerks in place and the song cuts short. We've only had it for about two months. I was really excited about this toy and it has turned into a big disappointment.

Great toy, but the paint is peeling off
My 9 month old received this for Christmas. She didn't pay much attention to it initially but has grown to love it and gets a real kick out of watching the train move across the floor. I love that it has 3 different levels that will grow with her. For these reasons I am leaving a 4 star review. However, I am disappointed in the quality of the paint used to paint the numbers on the shapes along the side. It started peeling off after only a month of use. So, instead of my child being able to press the number 1 and hear it say 1, eventually she will just be pressing the orange circle. That defeats part of the learning process. Why on Earth would they do such a shoddy job with the paint and screw up an otherwise great toy? I could very easily scratch the numbers off with my nails if I wanted. If you can think of some way to preserve the numbers (perhaps a more permanent paint or clear nail polish to coat it???), I highly recommend you do so.

Disappointed
We only kept this toy for about a year before getting rid of it. My kid's favorite feature was the train moving by itself. That stopped working very quickly after purchasing the train. I contacted Fisher Price and they said the batteries that are installed upon purchasing are somewhat temporary and need to be changed. I did and the train worked again - but for not long. The rest of the train works fine, but it doesn't move by itself. Installed new batteries again, same thing - worked for a short time and then quit. So it appears that the train moving by itself stops when batteries are somewhat used. Irritating.

Better than the last one we tried!
I admit I only bought this because Fisher Price stopped making the Amazing Animals train version I liked and I didn't want to do Lion King. But when I saw this one in person and realized all the additional features, I fell in LOVE. Also, the baby LOVES it. Especially the little figurines which she carries around everywhere. She likes to make the train roll and hits the buttons that tell her the colors, shapes, or numbers. Much more educational than the one I had to my last kids! go with laugh and learn over the Disney!!

Toddler Likes It
My toddler really likes this train set. It's cute and has quite a few buttons to push on it. It also has 3 different settings for them as they grow. My daughter pushes the train and about the 3rd day of her playing with it it stopped rolling on it's own. She didn't want to wait for it to move on it's own so she would push it herself, but now it doesn't roll on it's own at all. I've tried "resetting" it but no luck. She still plays with it and likes it, I was just bummed that, that function stopped working.
