BIG UPSIDES BIG DOWNSIDES.
The screen size is nice and big, the touchscreen is responsive, and the Gestures to turn on flashlight and all that are fantastic. And the fact there are mods you can just slap on it is fantastic.I would have become a full on Motorola fan til I die because of this fantastic phone, but sadly it also comes with some serious downsides. The bluetooth is the biggest problem, I used it a total of one time. Now it just doesn't work at all, will not turn on.The battery life is pathetic. You NEED the battery mod if you want to own this phone and not have it run out halfway through the day with barely any use WITH battery saver on. What a joke. And because you need to have the battery mod on it at all times you shouldn't waste your money on a nice case. This problem wouldn't be so bad if there were cases that fit the battery mod as well as the phone, come on it can't be that hard a design. And last but certainly not least: Lack of support for the phone anywhere outside of the US. Ridiculous. Motorola may not be as big as apple but there are plenty of people in the UK and other countries who would quickly ditch their iphones for something like this I'll bet. AAs long as they fix these GLARING issues and maybe add a couple more mods this could be the best phone ever made.

Great, but not perfect
Update as of September 2018 (purchase March 2017)The battery is completely destroyed. This phone is now a landline. Of course you can't find anyone who will replace it for under 200 pounds either so it's pretty much a way for them to motivate you buying a new phone.Stick to phones with removable batteries. This is a dud (or a very flashy landline, whatever your perspective)Original post:The phone itself is well build, solid, great battery life and fast performance.Only three minor criticisms: 1) The case cannot be opened, and so batteries cannot be swapped out. 2) Removing the audio jack means you need Moto's own jack (who care if the case is thinner than an audio jack). 3) The build of Android can at times be frustrating and limiting, especially in limiting access.

Thin and Sturdy
It has a very large form factor and looks great. Because of how thin the device is i would recommend a case as it can be quite slippery in the hand. Although the phone is very thin the battery still lasts all day. I also purchased the Incipio power mod with the phone this gives me up to 2 whole days of use. The phone is extremely quick and gets all of the latest Android updates due to the near stock feel of Motorola's skin.

It's a Dead Duck
The Moto Z is a conundrum. It is a well crafted, pretty and sensible piece of technology. The Moto Mods experience is gimmicky, but I could see it working for some people. Camera is sharp, low light performance is fab and the phone is nippy. The one problem that causes this to be cast into a dirty nappy bin somewhere is the battery. Simply put, it is kak.Lenovo/Motorola have somewhat acknowledged that after the Android 7.1 update certain battery killing bugs entered into the system and have rendered this phone almost unusable. It is ...unusable! Purchased this and charged it - 100% to 20% in less than 3 hours. That's with a little browsing and one 37 minute phone call.I want to be able to say this is awesome but it just isn't. Don't buy it!!

More or less is a good phone. Battery is not good though
More or less is a good phone. Battery is not good though, can't manage to have it for one day without a charge, sometime is frustrating. Finger scanner is just a finger scanner, and it a shame considering its position, took me a while to use it only as finger scanner, they could make it as a home button easily. Also back button and the other button are only on screen, but there is a lot of space on the bottom.Another thing, it doesn't have a led lamp on front, which notify if you have a message or missed call, small thing, but only realize how much means when don't have it. Camera, screen and performance are really good, and also is really thin.
