LG AN-WF100 Wi-Fi Dongle for Wireless Access to LG Smart TV

Although the first item I received was damaged I had no problems getting a replacement very quickly.Having fitted the dongle to my LG TV and following the onscreen setup guide, I was up and running in no time.The dongle dose what it says on the tin! however I feel that to get full use out of it you need to have a good internet service provider, with fast broadband speeds. At present my provider can't give me that, so during peak times it's a bit of an effort trying to use the internet facility on the TV, as it's buffering the information constantly.I will be resolving this issue in December when I change provider. Then I will be able to get full use of the dongle and the internet facility on my TV to access BBC Iplayer, Love films etc.All in all, this a great little product, but you must have all the pieces of the jigsaw in place to get the full benefit!

Ordered this the other day so I could fully enjoy all the functions of my new LG Smart TV (LG 42LM620T). I've had it for a few days now and all I can say is so far so good!It's easy as pie to use, simply plug and play, and it's great for connectivity. I can now surf the web on my TV and thanks to Plex media server (software you can download from [...]) I am able to access media content from my laptop straight to my TV. So now, as long as my laptop is switched on I have access to all my music, movies and TV shows which I download. I have nothing negative to say about this product at the moment since it's working perfectly.I also purchased the magic remote through Amazon which I received today. This has really enhanced my Smart TV experience as it makes web surfing easier through a "point and click" method rather than using the normal remote and having to click through all the options one by one to select the desired one. I'm guessing that whoever is purchasing this dongle is probably looking to surf the web on their TV which is why I recommend also purchasing the magic remote.

My LG Smart TV is a long way from my router, which is in an upstairs room as my PC and an Xbox 360 are both upstairs and hard wired to the Virgin modem which is in my computer room to take full advantage of the 60mbps we receive. I thought that the TV which is in the room downstairs was too far away to hard wire so eventually I bought this dongle' which was a very good price and works fine.The signal strength could be better, but the TV is quite some distance from the router and it does allow full use of the Smart TV facilities which I didn't have before.Some things load quickly, some take some time to fully load, some things never load at all but this is Wi-Fi after all and it varies throughout the day and at night.This product, at this price is highly recommended and it is a genuine LG product, but my LG Blu-ray player wouldn't recognise it, perhaps it is meant just for LG TV's.

I bought a Smart TV in June 2011 after reading a current review of an LG 32LV550T, LED LCD TV. The TV Handbook was not clear on Wi-Fi[talks about velcro attachments!] Web searches gave other info. I found that the "AN-WF100 AL" Dongle by LG is a Wireless Broadband/DLNA Adaptor, only for LG Wi-Fi ready TVs. I managed to source one from Germany [via Amazon]. The instructions listed lots of compatible LG TVs, but not mine. However, it fits one of the USB slots and works well after a few seconds TV warm-up, when the dongle blue light on the top of the AN-WF100 lights up.

I bought this adapter to access the "Smart" functions on my LG 47LM620T. Normally I'd use powerline adapters, but the TV was mounted a little too close to the wall, so settled on the AN-WF100 instead. It arrived quickly, and in minimal packaging which gets a thumbs up from me.Plugged the adapter in and it was instantly recognised by the TV, so far so good. Sadly, despite other devices in the same room being able to connect to my wireless network, the TV would not. I suspect part of the problem is the fact that the TV was mounted close to the wall, and the USB slots are quite a way in from the edge of the TV, meaning that the wifi adapter is tucked well away behind the TV.To get round the issue, I tried a USB extension cable to move the adapter from behind the TV - it worked instantly with a good signal. However, as I don't want the adapter to be visible, I have now set up a TP-LINK TL-WR702N as a wireless extender (powered by USB from the TV) and this combination seems to work perfectly. Both items are tucked away and not visible (except the pale blue light from the wifi adapter!).[...]So, if you have a less than ideal wifi positioning/set up then this product may not be for you, unless you are prepared to do some "fiddling".

Didn't work

Just thought i would write a few words on the LG Wi Fi Dongle. I have just got an LG Smart Television and decided to try the internet features, this requires the dongle so i purchased one from Amazon. It arrived within a couple of days and was priced cheaper than any other stockists which was a bonus.Setting up was "a piece of cake" simply turn the tele on , plug in the dongle , it searches for your Wi Fi router , connects and away you go . It took about 20 seconds. Needless to say i am pleased with my purchase.
